So? I don't like how it looks, so I will enjoy beating the tar out of it.

Concerning Froakie, those two white dots it has on its... snout I suppose look like glasses to me. xD And I find that adorable. :>

It seems more like he'll have a more academic look when he evolves because of those reading glasses-like spots, wonder if it'll be Water/Psychic later...

Froakie looks like a guy with glasses and a powdered wig. Hmm...

Froakie doesn't need a Psychic type. He's a cloud frog with glasses. He's so epic, he doesn't need a type.

Also, I just noticed that in the artwork, Froakie is fixing his glasses. Awesome.

If any of them are Psychic, it's probably Fennekin.

Also, the streets featuring the Eiffel Tower look like French/European streets to me, but maybe I'm just silly.

Holy Grail, huh? Cool story, bro.

Grass/Dark Fire Water/Electric

edit: Pikachu's Thunder did spread out over the red sea so it at least discharged from Europe or West Asia.

That is what Bulbapedia is leaning towards. Because I am ignorant of other countries, what could be some other things in the game inspired by France?

It's France. Pikachu's lightning at the start of the trailer spreads out from France.

Also, those look more like bubbles to me, than clouds.

@Spooky: What are you talking about? I like Oshawott and took it.

SpookyMask Since: Jan, 2011
#167: Jan 8th 2013 at 9:25:57 AM

Its not as much Oshawott being bad as much as it is lame that two starters are visually similar to each other tongue

Like Snivy and Treeko are visually similar? First form only methinks.

I could've sworn that I read somewhere that there was a Pic du Midi de Bigorre expy in the trailer.

I'll probably go for the Fire-type if I get this.

You and 65% of everyone else.

Watch t be the new snivy where everyone loves it now but then it ends up not living up to the hype when the game comes out. Not that serperior is bad.

Hnnnnng, full 3D! I was skeptical at first but after seeing it in action it looks really neat! It still looks like Pokemon, pretty much.

I'll go with the grass, I think. Though I always end up not using my starter eventually... <_>

Balmung Since: Oct, 2011
#175: Jan 8th 2013 at 10:12:17 AM

Really, I'm surprised that so many people take the grass type ever. My thoughts are that the grass type is a.) bad (see lack of good moves for several generations and uncommonness of those good moves, as well as the substantial list of weaknesses) and common (admittedly biased by the fact that I've been around since Gen 1, in which they really were extremely common), and really, even water is quite common, but fire-types tend to be rare, making them a sensible choice as a starter.
