Oh, this would be awesome if he did that. :D
I think using an example of an actual creepy changing painting would be better, though - I suggest Fourteen Oh Eight, In The Mouth Of Madness, Eternal Darkness, or Amnesia The Dark Descent. (Not sure about the others, but I know I've seen image-only versions of the portraits in the last example and I can probably find them again.)
EDIT: And done! From the Amnesia wikia - Alexander of Brennenburg at normal sanity◊ and low sanity◊, respectively. :D

The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableHere are the two I came up with of the Mona Lisa:
And we have the script ready to plug in, once we settle on the images. It will work the same way as the avatars did on Halloween — the image will change once it's scrolled off the screen.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.^ I like that idea but feel like it should be the whole painting.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Keep in mind that the creepiness is that the painting is changing at all. It doesn't have to be changing to something that's creepy itself.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Ooh, I like the subtlety of the eyes blanking over in rodney's.
I prefer Rodney's rendition, if we're going to use the Mona Lisa. :/
(Also, Rodney - do you know you can use the table markup to put them all in the same row?)
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableDon't suppose we could have a crosseyed one, too, for the heckuvit?
Moon◊^^ Evidently not. :)
edit: thanks, have a ufo
^ Is that too silly?

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Put them all on the same line, separated by double bars || with another pair on each end. If it gets too wide, doing the same thing on the next line will add another row.
Can we have one with a random UFO in the background? :D
Heheh ^_^

The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableWait, if the image changes while scrolled down, how will people know it has at all?
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Because the image was just waiting for you tu turn away for just one moment to change...
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanWe could add a note at the bottom of the page telling people to scroll up again.
Rodney's images:
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.Yeah, we planned on adding a stinger at the bottom saying to scroll back up...
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.You guys just want to see unsuspecting readers to shit brix, don't you?
Brilliant.

I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.rodneyAnonymous's images get my approval - except for the upper right one, which is a bit too blatant for my liking.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI think that works too, really. It's still only one of six.
And why does she look so smug when she looks the other way?

Check out my fanfiction!I've heard stories about Mona's smiling being a sign that she hides something.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanYou mean you've heard stories about someone's famously mysterious smile being because she hides something? I've heard a story that there was this artist called Leonardo who once painted picture of a lady of unknown origin...
Check out my fanfiction!Question about how the randomiser works - will it always start with normalMona, or might it begin with one of the variations?
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableAn example in Other? That would work, too.
It will always start with Normal!Mona. Then turn into one of the others randomly when it scrolls off the screen.
And I don't know why her smile seems to change when her eyes change, but I noticed that too, when I was working with the close-ups.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.It's because a true smile comes from the eyes. Or technically, the muscles in the entire face, and the ones around the eyes are the most expressive in human perception.
Check out my fanfiction! But all I changed was the positioning of her actual pupils. I didn't change the shading around the eyes at all. 'Tis odd.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I think that our eyes don't see the pupil separately from the rest of the face, they see it as a single thing...
<psychology speculation>
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanMaybe the different direction she's looking in makes us expect the related muscles to have moved accordingly, so we see the expression as different. It's probably all part of her being the famous mysery lady with the strange smile, which is why I'd like her as the page image in the first place.
I love that we can have little derails here.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.
Following the Halloween avatar trick, Eddie said he'd be willing to implement the offscreen image change thing for Creepy Changing Painting. Looks like that discussion stalled, so here we go.
I'd suggest two images, preferably related; specifically, I think the Mona Lisa and upside down!Mona Lisa would work well, though I'm not in a place where I can upload and rotate things. Thoughts?
