Power Rangers/Sentai RP Interest Gauge

Well I made a universe bible for a Reconstructionist Power Rangers or Sentai set up and I thought, hey, no way I'll be Producing PR anytime soon why not have the twelfth best thing?

So this is an interest meeting for anyone on how involved they would like to be.

Five Rangers with a Sixth is pretty much what I'm looking at.

Somewhat interested pending on more information about the setting, although the reconstructionist thing already makes me want to give this a try.

I would recommend that you post the interest check in the RP sign-ups forum, though, as that's kind of where that kind of stuff is supposed to go.

Well the idea is that we discover a Xennobiolgical subspace field that can be used as a power source, a way of teleporting and an FTL device. We send a probe out but then it gets caught by the Pentekamen, an alliance of five Alien warlords who seek out planets that have discovered the field and conquer them. Knowing we don’t have much time we mobilize a mass weaponization of this tech, which, due to being light based, is divvied among Spectral lines. The lower to the end of the spectrum the more powerful. (Thus, traditional ranking of Red -Yellow-Green-Blue-)(Primary colors being easier to distill so Red, Blue and yellow were extracted first before we gained access to green and violet). We only have time to make about five of these weapon sets so the world is united under the Earth Gaurd, which sets up the Hexagon as a facility to locate and groom Operators. Certain people are more naturally attuned to certain aspects of the spectrum, so it has a Red Branch, a Yellow branch and so on. The RP begins when the attack lands and the players are made the operators.

What we don’t know is that the spectrum acts a Morphonic Kreel, and that its Nexus points are all across the world, gaining access to the nexus points gives one a greater control over the field and with them all under one power the Pentakamen would rule.

So they go across the world fighting the invaders and gaining access to Nexus points, when they do they can be converted into new abilities through a process back engineered from alien tech that allows the formation of panphysical weaponry to manifest via the field.

And then the sixth ranger shows up and it all goes to hell.

Hmmm... Yeah, sounds interesting, although by the looks of it I'll have to figure out a colour other than pink to use, ahah~ Hopefully there'll be more than just me interested, because it really does sound like a fun idea.

I have a few ideas. I'd like to share them over PM.

Pink is replaced by Violet here, thought it made more sense. And feel free to pm or post any ideas. Once I get a good base I'll start. We only need at least five active players.

...Violet works for me. Any problems with her being from an exceptionally wealthy family and having pretty much just bought her way into being a Ranger?

Personally I think that any ideas at the moment should be posted in the thread, since there's really no need for super-secret stuff this early in development, but that's just me. Don't really have any right now, but if I do have any, I'll be sure to let you all know.

Well given the Hexagon has MANY rangers(just only five morphers) i'm sure you could buy your way in. How exactly oru cast gets the five though is subject to the plot we can come up with.

Hmmm... How about they're on a training exercise somewhere when the aliens attack nearby, and since they're the only Rangers in the area they have to take up the morphers for what is supposed to be just one time to protect a nearby city? Always thought trial by fire seemed to fit this kind of thing pretty well, ahah~

Eh, could work. Though why the morphers are near them instead of back at the Hexagon would need to be addressed. Dont want a Ninja Storm ripoff do we?

As for the trial by fire idea, I could support that.

The Pentakamen are five warlords each from five past conquered planets (Thus the name, keeping with the Sentai roots it's a fusion of Pentapolis and ecumenopolis it also sounds likea pulp alien name "Pentaka-Men") Each has its own theme and mooks.

Animals, Magic, Martial Arts etc.

Let me see if I could get my old notes back. I had Beasts, Machines, Martial Arts, Magic and "Nature" i think.

Well, four out of five isn't bad, I guess. "Nature" as in plant monsters and the like?

I was trying to distill the differing Sentai and PR themes into five. Hard to come up with a fifth.

I have four rangers. Need a fifth. Heh, how many seasons started just like this? Anyway start working on your characters. What class they're in (Red, Yellow, Blue, Green or Violet) names backstory etc. feel free to try to worldbuild stuff by sending me pms. We can start next week if we get a fifth. Heck, worse comes to worse I can just play red.

Having a bio template helps us out. That way, we know exactly which fields to cover and not end up with wildly different character sheets.

Hmmm, well, still going with Violet, so let's see...

Is there going to be a sign-up sheet posted soon? Just so we know if you need any more info than just the basic name/appearance/personality/history stuff.
