We have a separate Visual Novels subforum, so I've put in a request to have this moved there.
Now in the correct thread thanks to your friendly neighbour mods. Thanks Mods!
hashtagsarestupidSomehow, I completely missed hearing about this. I think it's because as of this writing, if you search iTunes for "visual novel," Cause Of Death is not listed. (Instead, there's a modest number of romance games, and a few different stories such as the two main Vera Blanc games, Tears 9 10, Juniper's Knot, A Scar of the Doll, and Cafe 0 ~The Drowned Mermaid~.)
The pay-per-episode format does mean you're not paying a flat fee for unwanted content, but I'm not sure if I like it. Aside from this distribution style, is it possible that Electronic Arts has created a narrative and visual style that western visual novel creators might want to emulate?
Well apparently it's a spin off from the Surviving High School series[1], which is done in much of the same style.
Basically the same premise only with make out instead of murders. lol.

link. Has anyone else play it?
I downloaded this not knowing what to expect and was really surprised by it. I've never cared much for visual novels but the writing is shaper then most tv detective shows and you actually feel for the characters.
Sure the game play is almost non existent but I like the fact there are no PixelHunts or Moon Logic Puzzles to frustrate you. You're just expected to pay attention and use common sense to finish the game.
