Also, TV Tropes isn't really a good sample since we're relatively small and as some outside commentators have pointed out we're kinda sorta skewed towards a certain mentality and by extension a certain preference. A larger and less analytic community may be better for this purpose.
Yeah, I've posted this on the Deviant ART forums as well, and I plan to post it on Game FA Qs as soon as I can figure out which board to put it in. Any suggestions for that?

Game FA Qs may not be the best place because the community is sharply divided among fans of different series and you may end up with sockpuppets or other shenanigans messing up your results. Perhaps a place with better moderation and less in-depth discussion of particular games like the Giantbomb or RPS forums (I think, haven't been to the latter two myself)?
We're supposed to gather data to test a hypothesis. Mine involves games, so I'd appreciate it if you could answer two questions.
1) Are you male or female?
2) Do you prefer shooters or RPGs? Your answer doesn't have to be your favorite genre - I'm just asking in regards to these two specifically.
I need as many answers as possible by December 14th, so I'd appreciate it if you could leave your input.
