It was so good. It was so unbelievably mind boggling pants shittingly good that I can't believe that human history has gotten to this point of sheer perfection so quickly.

This series has a Jam Project opening theme.

That makes it the greatest thing ever. Anyone who dislikes anything about it must be destroyed.

That is all.tongue

Meh. Still not as good as Sono Chi No Sadame, or, for that matter, JAM's own Ai Wo Torimodose.

As for the rough animation stylistic choice, I see what they did there, and while it's Not Bad, it's not exactly my cup of tea, and reminds me of this:

It's the deadpan delivery that really sells it.

Yeah, but since I'm completely biased against Naruto, I'm going to let this series get away with it, while having no problem with this at all.

The animation was odd, but I know this series is good, so I'm cool with it.

There were some points where it reminded me of something out of Getter Robo, and the underground king (forgot how to spell his actual name) made me immediately think of something out of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

Things only got kinda rough therein the Beefcake fight & that only applies to him. Everything else was perfect especially the Mole-men fight. That was so fucking epic. evil grin

Considering the art of the manga, Madhouse did pretty damn well.

Also, THAT FREAKING UNDERGROUND MONSTER FIGHT.

Very satisfied with that first ep. I've got high hopes for the rest of the series. And yeah, while the segment with Beefcake was really rough, I'd agree that it was a stylistic choice more than lack of quality. Cuz, seriously, look at that fight with the Underground people. That was almost Fate/Zero level quality right there. Reminded me of a mixture of Gurren Lagann (the movies) and Getter Robo.

Can't wait for the Boros arc.

Yeah, I was very satisfied with this first episode.

Think we should get a mod to change the thread title since it seems we are going to discuss the anime here as well?

What I like about the latest ONE chapter is that it somewhat realistically handles how a fight between the world's strongest man and a psychic would go. Saitama's still getting blown back by Tatsumaki's attacks, even if he's not taking any damage from them. I hated that one part in Medaka Box where Medaka challenges the entire school to a game of tug-of-war and somehow inexplicably wins.

I think I'm all caught up? I dunno, the site I've been reading One Punch Man on is super unorganized. Is there an official One Punch Man site?

For any English translations, no. But both Murata's and ONE's versions are free online:

ONE's is http://galaxyheavyblow.web.fc2.com/ Murata's is at http://tonarinoyj.jp/manga/onepanman/

VIZ has become very aggressive in taking down translations of Murata's version as of late. But ONE's can be found easily enough and encompass the whole story, minus side chapters and additions.

A recent side chapter came out as well. Powerlevel mask made by Child Emperor while Blizzard once again tries to get Saitama to join her group.

As you'd expect of the mask it cracks after trying to scan Saitama's powerlevel. Also Kings level is undefined like Saitama's so he's even weaker than a normal person (It can't define those who are too strong or too weak).

It also only detects organic physical power. So psychics and cyborgs like Genos won't work right. Blizzard got a 19 (Average human).

Those are some convenient flaws aren't they?

So if I bet twenty bucks that it was assumed that King was really strong (too strong to be measured) and Saitama was ridiculously weak (too weak to be measured) would I have an extra twenty in my pocket?

Cause I'm dirt cheap, and if I lose, I don't want to pay twenty bucks.

You won twenty Invisible Kingdom Dollars Rob.

It helps that Saitama doesn't actually beat the monster of the chapter with Genos and Child Emperor killing it. Instead he gets stuck in the man spiders cobweb before he can hit it.

To put some things in perspective a bear is 900, a C-Class Hero is typically 100, the average person is 10-30s, and Child Emperor is 1800.

Heh.

That's rare.

Then again, the whole point is that only a small number of people know how strong Saitama really is, and fate will conspire to keep him from the fame he rightfully deserves......or Saitama himself will dodge it and be a Nice Guy.

Wealth and fame, is ignored (reluctantly)! Action iiiiiiis, his reward!

Ah I got mixed up Rob Saitama does finish the spider off, but the way it looks was weird because he got stuck in the web immediately afterwards. Genos at least killed the man half without getting damaged for once.

It looks weird because of how it happened and confused me.

It's ambiguous whether King and Blizzard really have those stats or if Saitama just broke the mask.
