I'll second that motion.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Aye. Those images are inaccurate and cause a lot of confusion.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. However, I'm only commenting them out so they can be quickly restored in case someone has a good reason to restore them. We won't use a different image until we have another suggestion either.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page. That's not necessary. Page history exists.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Comment out or cut, I'm good either way.
When given the choice between going to one page, copying something, then going to another page and pasting it, or deleting four characters, which would you take?
And yes, the images do need to go.
There's also the danger of the page history being impossible to find. Commenting out is much better since it's much easier to restore.
But enough about that. Does anyone have any suggestions for potential replacements?
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page. The images are one if not the reason for a lot of confusion with these tropes. Having them in any way on these pages is not helpful, just remove them.
A alternative image for the Competitive Balance page could be some kind of character selection screen which shows different characters with different but balanced stats.
Should I comment out the image on the Main Competitive Balance page, too?
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.I don't think finding a replacement pic should even be attempted before the repair shop thread is done; the odds of a chosen image failing some criteria of the new trope description will be high, wasting all the effort.
I think that's six or seven votes in favor of zapping the charts. Good enough to go ahead?
Rhymes with "Protracted."Also zero objections.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Well, I do object actually. However it's on the grounds that I put a ton of effort into making the current pictures, and all the talk about them actually harming the entire series of tropes has me incredibly bummed out to the point I don't even want to participate in these discussions. But that's hardly a good line of reasoning for keeping them where they are.
Well, they're great pictures, and as a whole, they do illustrate the concept of Competitive Balance. The only real problem is about the individual tropes.
I think it's fine to leave them, or maybe just cut out the other trope names in the image while the TRS is ongoing.
Check out my fanfiction!I think the one exclusively on the main Competitive Balance can stay since it does do a good job of illustrating. However, now that we've agreed on the TRS thread that all of those archetypes like Fragile Speedster, Glass Cannon and the like are part of Necessary Drawback instead of Competitive Balance, the ones on the individual archetypes will remain commented out until a suitable replacement is suggested.

EDIT: Disregard the clock, I didn't notice the date on the post before the last one.

So what are we doing with this?
The only option I can think of is "leave them commented out". We seriously need more suggestions.

I think the best option would be to just leave the trope names out of the image. That way it illustrates the balance without calling specific setups specific names that may or may not be wrong.
Check out my fanfiction! The clock's up, and there's more of a consensus to comment out the pics than anything else, so that's what will be done. Locking up.
As per this TRS thread on Competitive Balance, I'm motioning to comment out (not completely remove) the triangular charts on the subtropes until further notice, since it implies that all of those tropes have to fit all parts of the "holy triangle" of Atk, Def, and Spd, and over at the thread, we came to the conclusion that they really shouldn't. Another way of illustrating without having to include the triangle would be highly appreciated.
