It's something I sometimes have a desire to do to others, so it's something I think is more complicated than people realize?
Read my stories!Okay. Why the question mark?
The dumber people think you are, the more surprised they're going to be when you kill them.Because that's how I spoke it in my head, as if I was unsure that was the type of topic you were referring to when posting this.
Read my stories!I think we have a thread for talking about unpleasant things already.
The Nunnery?
‽‽‽‽ ^These are interrobangs. Love them. Learn them. Use them.
That's about inserting unpleasant things in unpleasant places.
Gay men having sex?
... Sounds about right. XD
Hey now, that's not the only way gay men have sex
Oh god this is turning into a second Nunnery we should get off this topic
‽‽‽‽ ^These are interrobangs. Love them. Learn them. Use them.I don't see why this should be separate from the Anxieties thread.
Let's get back on topic...
Anyway, bullying sucks. And compared to cyberbullying, trolling is just pathetic. Anyone else agree?
I don’t even know anymore.Or from the Nunnery thread...
Bullying is pathetic, period.

Well, some trolls are cyberbullies.
‽‽‽‽ ^These are interrobangs. Love them. Learn them. Use them.Thusly, cyberbullies are also trolls.
I have been bullied before, but not much more other than verbally. And even then, it wasn't overtly bad. I have some friends that get picked on a lot more than I.
I don’t even know anymore.I haven't been bullied much, but I was shunned a lot in middle school.
‽‽‽‽ ^These are interrobangs. Love them. Learn them. Use them. This thread came up at a rather interesting time. I think Bullying Awarenes Week is coming up.
I don’t even know anymore.Awareness weeks are weird, unless they're about some really obscure topic.

@Leradny: Bullying isn't synonymous with anxiety and insecurity, they're just two of its possible side-effects.
@Explosivo: I honestly had no idea...

The dumber people think you are, the more surprised they're going to be when you kill them.It always angers me when people defend or apologise for bullying. There's a lot of victim blaming that goes on even today; every time I've seen a discussion like this I've seen someone willing to argue how bullying is just a normal part of growing up.
That may be so, but it shouldn't be and bullying shouldn't be normalised. Bullying isn't something that makes you stronger, it just beats you down as a human being and frequently turns the victim into a massive jerk as well.
The term "Great Man" is disturbingly interchangeable with "mass murderer" in history books.Agreed, and that goes double for the asshats that defend beating your kids under the same principle.
We already had this thread, over in OTC.
The particular post I linked to was one that I made in which I presented a research-based set of response options available to school children, rated by effectiveness. Here and here. It sparked off a lot of debate.
Those of you who are experiencing bullying, or feel yourself to be at risk, might want to read some of the articles I linked to over there.
"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."My response to those studies is still the same.
Appropriate response to appropriate situations. Limit the violence, but do what it is necessary to protect yourself.
Yep.
/shrug I know it's not the most pleasant subject, but if anyone wants to talk about it it's better to have the opportunity than not, right?
