Busou Shinki

3 episodes in and it is still really adorable. Ann looks like she could kick some major ass, and i would love to see that in the future

Seriously, this show is decent

those cat shinki seemed to be channeling Dick Dastardly a little too much during ep 4.

Those two are probably my favourite characters from the series along with the random hamster. Although I do wish that this series actually had a plot it is still entertaining and the latest episode was nicely insane.

I'm kind of amused at the amount of rage going on after the show settled more or less into the "cute little automated and intelligent dolls doing cute things" routine, rather than what the more action-oriented P Vs and OAV suggested. Sure, the hint of Shinki battling is still there, but it sure got relegated to the sidelines very quickly.

I am not surprised at the rage as it sometimes seems to me that some people hate anything that isn't wall-to-wall action. I didn't watch any of the previews and came in to it with an open mind and I find the series entertaining.

Ep 6 is out.

Wait, so there was a bomb on the plane, but it was a dud to train a bunch of Shinki so it would not happen for real, but somehow there was mistake into sorting out the simulation and they got that whole mess because of it. Weird. And I'm pretty sure they are making those ending previews as misleading as possible on purpose. How come Kurara/Clara alaways get stomped? Didn't she make it into the finals of a tourneament once?

It's nice to see that they would at least make some token effort into showing the effects that the Shinki have on society.

Either she's default unlucky, or she's not the same one. Keep in mind: in this premise, Shinki ARE action figures and they have duplicates.

Yeah, I got that, but it was stated both on ep 1 and ep 3 that it was her on that first fight scene who lost to that other Strarf.

i think Clara has become the Butt-Monkey of the series. they were also military grade shinki, so that might have had something to do with her loss

Interestingly enough, prior to these two episodes I wouldn't have noticed that Ann's long hair seems to be just an attachment, as she apparently takes it off during sleep mode (and indeed, the "terrorist" models have all short hair).

makes sense. I dont recall there being any indication prior to the night before the trip that hairstyles were customizable.

Though I didn't really rage I guess. I was disappointed though. And stopped watching after 2 episodes. (I'll probably watch specific episodes if people tell me which one has the fight scene or something though.)

And well the owner of the Shinki looks both really generic and lamer than the usual generic anime guys to me somehow.

I think that's the point; you're SUPPOSED to put Ann and the other's owner out of mind, as he's ultimately unconnected to the hijinks they do whenever he's out of the house.

I think the problem is that people can't think of much to say that isn't covered on the main Busou Shinki page.

Maybe, but the page for the show just looks ridiculous with only a list of tropes there.

Besides, doesn't this series have consistent characters and a story/format worth mentioning?

The best way to begin is to visit the main website and get the series synopsis for the anime, then build a personalized description from there. Probably starting with "In an unspecified time in the near future..."

I personally admit that it's kind of hard to describe what amounts to a Cute Girls doing Cute Things story... except with sentient action figures.

I just watched all the episodes of this anime, and dub it flawed but fun (and adorable).

One thing I noticed is that the Shinki AI is not Asimovian in architecture, rather it has a Master-centric mentality that can dupe naive, newly-activated Shinki into covering for a shop thief and make "terrorist" Shinki suicidally set explosives in aircraft out of fanatical loyalty. Even the protagonist Shinki will all go to some extremes if they feel their Master's happiness or safety is at stake.

I can rewatch it and try to gather material to flesh out the pages.

Should we have a more fleshed-out and sectioned Character subpage that is split for the Moon Angel OVA, the Anime characters, and the Toyline/Battle Rondo Shinki personalities? (pages like characters/busoushinkimoonangel, characters/busoushinkitvanime, and characters/busoushinkitoyline)
