Maybe the whole loving Uncle figure to the young Emperor and Diabolical monster is the result of a spilt persona!
Could be.
But I think he deliberately killed his love for Syura. Total control of the self. Really nasty.
RealidadeTo rebuttal the notion that NR members drop like flies
They really don't
Sheele Chapter 9
Bulat is in chapter 14
Chelsea doesn't bite it till 33
Susanoo 43
Rubac is chapter 52
The jagers follow a similar pattern
Stylish 21
Bors 32
Seryu 38
Run 48 -though he didn't get the coundtdown coda-
Meaning.... if the pattern follows through the next person up is a Jager
Yeah, that Prime Minister scene looked creepy as fuck.
It was like he was reacting normally...and then suddenly he snaps into his classic villainous behaviour. It almost gave me Brainwashing vibes.

Maybe the old emperor isn't dead

Yeah, what the fuck happened with Honest there? It's as if he had to force himself to remember that he's an asshole.
In RWBY, every girl is Best Girl.As creepy as it was, it was a pretty interesting (and evil) thing to see, somebody overcoming sadness and love.
Now I am asking myself which members of NR will survive. To me it would be interesting if Tatsumi died just to see which direction the Manga would go.
The other question is which members of the empire are going to kill a hero. Nobody expected Yasuo.
The antagonists with bigger hero-killer traits are Esdeath, Honest and Budo. I also think that Wave is going to kill a Night Raid member considering his oath to protect Kurome and Run's dream of changing the empire by inside.
RealidadeWho would replace Tatsumi as the protagonist if he dies? I'm guessing Akame, but she hasn't done much since she fought Kurome the first time. Esdeath suddenly turning Villain Protagonist is an interesting idea, but I'm more convinced Esdeath will die next, so that's a no-go. Maybe Wave, since he's now the second most important male character after Tatsumi?
Assuming someone other than Tatsumi dies, I say Najenda. Dying after Lubbock is something I find oddly fitting for her. Mine seems to have a degree of Plot Armor, despite speculation saying otherwise, but I wouldn't rule out her own death, particularly if it's caused by Esdeath. Granted, I didn't expect Izou to kill Lubbock, so perhaps someone from Wild Hunt will kill someone else in Night Raid.
Speaking of that, who else is still alive in Wild Hunt? Champ was killed by Run, Enshin was killed by Akame, and Syura was killed by Lubbock, so... that leaves Izou, Dorothea, Cosmina, and Suzuka. Of those four, Cosmina still lives, but has been rendered brain dead, so she's not worth much, and Suzuka may have been killed by Esdeath for trying to rape Tatsumi.

In RWBY, every girl is Best Girl.Either Akame or Wave getting protagonism is a thing I support. Although since the Zero manga gave protagonism to Akame, I think Wave now has a bigger chance than her.
As for plot armor in Night Raid I think only Akame (manga title) and Tatsumi (the protagonist) have them.
Najenda fits a master/tutor type that is very killable.
Mine is in an odd place, as a girlfriend of the protagonist she has some plot armor but at the same time big potential for a tragedy. Esdeath might stuff her in a freeze. When she declared people screamed "death flag" non-stop.
Leone is in the inverse situation. If she gets too much development she may be killed for the tragedy, if she doesn't get it she may be killed off because people would care little.
RealidadeI'd agree that Wave seems the most plausible choice, he's basically Tatsumi on the other side of the battle.
When Najenda mentioned she might consider clearing things up with Lubbock after things settled down, I took that as a death flag for her, not Lubbock. Though this series throws death flags around like candy.
Oh, but I don't think Suzuka counts as a formal member of Wild Hunt.
It's hard for me to see Wave replacing Tatsumi, if only because Esdeath doesn't love Wave and Kurome is an ally of Wave.
Najenda trying to patch things up with Lubbock probably means she's next for death. On the other hand, Lubbock died before her. Maybe a similar scenario will come between Tatsumi and Esdeath - perhaps neither will die after all after the execution thing, because death flags for both were raised in the last chapter.
I mean, fuck it, it could be Leone who'll die next, or perhaps Budo. At this point, anything goes, because the author is fond of throwing curveballs and red herrings.

In RWBY, every girl is Best Girl. It's kinda annoying how the author knows what the audience expects, and plays around with that so now we don't know jack. It's part of the fun, I'm sure.
"And you must be Jonathan Joestar!" - SueOn that note, about the Revolutionary Army. I wonder how close they and Night Raid are on a personal level. Say that when all of this over and the rebels win, would they expect the people to trust them knowing they have a band of assassin's capable of doing things off the radar? And if not, how far would the army go to "rectify" that little issue?
... Seeing that Night Raid is part of the Revolutionary army
Nothing
Gave up and started reading the manga.
Incidentally, the splash page for the first chapter is Tasumi, Mine and Akame. Dunno if it means anything.
It means EVERYTHING you want it to mean
Zero 10 is out
Deathmatch's begin and granny comes for you!
Wait, huh?
Oh, one thing I found odd was the Jaegers' dislike of Wild Hunt's, erm, methods. Didn't Esdeath, like, order mass rape back at the tribe village? So if she was still put off by Wild Hunt nonetheless, that... doesn't make much sense. Wild Hunt is meant to be worse than the Jaegers ever could be, but if Esdeath ordered mass rape, then that kinda defeats the purpose from a writing perspective.
Granted, the anime had it as "just" a massacre, and the mass rape part was more implied than shown in the manga ('cause of teh violatez), so meh. I'm probably just over-analyzing too much from a critical perspective. I'm seeing some say yes and others say no to the mass rape order, so whatever.

In RWBY, every girl is Best Girl. What Wild Hunt was doing was just pointless sadism that was not even directed at their enemies. Plus the entire murdering Bols family did no favors given that she liked Bols.
You look happy, I can change that if you want.Ahhh, good point. I get it now, and the anime explicitly had it as only mass murder so Wild Hunt could be seen as even worse to a degree.
New topic. What's the plot in the Akame prequel manga?

That was Taeko, right? One of Chelsea's teammates?

In RWBY, every girl is Best Girl.Taeko is the Swordmans, Cornelia was the one with the Shingu that got killed
Since Taeko is one of Chelsea's teammates.... welp, there goes that.
In RWBY, every girl is Best Girl.
What is interesting about the mourning of Syura is that it felt like it was truly heartfelt. Then it was like the evil in the Minister's brain took notice and:
"What is this? Love? I thought I had cleaned up the place. Time to another self-lobotomy."
Creepy.
Luboc had no chance of escaping. Didn't think that his killer would be the swordsman. Nice set, he was killed by the unknown and his murderer got a little character.
