Unless we get some kind of mission screen that explicitly spells this out, I don't see a good way to pic this. The current certainly doesn't get the job done.
... why is this just a video game trope?
the mission screen idea is good.
seriously though, why? Otherwise I would have suggested this◊
Ha, I just noticed someone over at TRS already asked this. In the exact same way I did.

please don't capitalize my handle. I just don't like it.Hmmm...that's not bad.
Maybe we should wait with a replacement until TRS finishes working on it? Though the thread's been open for more than a year.. [1]
Anyway, current is not good. I think we should pull it.
please don't capitalize my handle. I just don't like it.Funnily enough, isn't a straight example. "Mankind" are the alien "enemies" in the game. They're actually fairly peaceful, but they keep getting attacked by players of the video game in question; the protagonist of the book winds up saving them via dreams or something like that. Weird book, but then, it's Terry Pratchett, of course it's weird.

Moon◊Oops, sorry. I have to admit I haven't read the Johnny Maxwell books, just DW. The title just popped into my head. Disregard that then.

please don't capitalize my handle. I just don't like it.Bump. So is it ready to be pulled for now?
I put that image up years ago.
I'm going to miss it.

World doesn't seem to be saved in 1. World is exploding in 2, which kind of puts it beyond saving. Not sure how I feel about 3.
Moon◊Does the picture need to be video game-related?
somethingI shouldn't think so. I think TRS is at the very least well on its way to broadening it, if memory serves.
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableClock is set.
Clock's up; locking for inactivity. No further action is to be taken based on this thread.
All it shows is the Earth with a grumpy face drawn onto it. It does not really scream out "Saving the world" to me. To be honest, is there even a picture that goes with this trope? Or would it be better just to leave it imageless?
Current pic:
