It is still not working.

Regardless, I've come to get around doing it and I've finally scored victory with AA-Juggernaut thanks to some really toxic Phantom Assassin hogging all the kill and then bragging about it that I had to mute the guy. I don't mind about the lack of kills, but I do have one problem...

I think I built it wrong. I mean, okay, at first I got Power Treads and Mask of Madness. Things are lookin' good. But... damage output seems to be rather low overall, it's like I'm just applying Death of a Thousand Cuts, critting only goes to 300 if I had my Power Treads on Agility Mode. Is this REALLY the way for AA-Juggernaut? Should I actually invest on damage items? If yes, what and when?

My final build is: Aghanim, Mjolnir, Mask of Madness, Power Treads, Orb of Venom.

Try Phase Boots, Mask of Madness, Sange and Yasha/Manta Style (depends on the game), Eye of Skadi, Abyssal Blade, and build them in that order. The sixth slot is for situational items.

Just wanted to butt in and state how hilarious it is to watch the enemy team panic and unload everything they have on Wraith King's agh's. I just played a game where they jumped on our Warlock, and since I was nearby, he turned into the 5-second wraith. The enemy team pumped out like every single ult they had on the Warlock in a panic, who still managed to double-summon his golems anyway. It was glorious.

I was having the same issue, then I signed into Steam on the webpage. try that. My build is slightly different.

  • Early game, shoot for a fast Phase Boots and Mask of Madness. I would actually strongly consider skipping the Orb of Venom here. You want to hit your timings as fast as possible. Remember to Phase Boots after Mask of Madness.
    • Sometimes you can get a Quelling Blade for farming faster.
  • After that, go for Yasha. You should be able to take Roshan by yourself after that.
    • Alternatively, if you're in it for the long haul, go for Battlefury.
  • I like Basher straight after Yasha. Other options include Maelstrom for farming faster, or MKB if you're concerned about Evasion.
  • From there, pick up your Manta to clean up your Yasha, and Abyssal Blade for the Basher.
  • Get Boots of Travel for that sweet mobility.
  • Consider dropping your Mask of Madness for a sixth late game item.
  • Other late-game items include Butterfly, Mjolnir (especially if you got Maelstrom), Moon Shard, or BKB.
    • Butterfly is all-around generally good.
    • Mjolnir is super attack speed, and offers the highest possible damage increase to your Omnislash.
    • Eat that Moon Shard for 60 more attack speed.
    • BKB is somewhat uncommon due to Juggernaut already having Blade Fury, but sometimes the extra layer is useful.

I played Enigma for the first time today. I did well, but only because the Anti-Mage I fought against was an idiot. Early on, I mostly used the Eidolons to harass AM, which they were very good at doing. I only jungled during the mid-game, getting a Blink Dagger. There was no late-game; the whole thing was over in twenty-five minutes.

Guess what? Ursa's Enrage also reduces pure damage.

I learned this by going ham on an Axe who popped blademail. I don't think he was pleased to see that his blademail did practically nothing.

I am not sure if it's a bug or not. Regardless, Ursa is pretty much The Juggernaut in Enrage mode.

[up] It's not a big deal, he can still be kited after he casts the ult and it only lasts for 4 seconds. I guess not dying to Blademail might have been one of the reasons for changing his ult.

Okay, last battle was a disaster, the enemy made a comeback because we didn't watch out for Ursa. And yet, me as AA-Jugg get blamed for 'having no impact'.

Now let me ask this. When you're an auto-attacking Juggernaut and Teamfight is upon you (and to be frank, the initiator (Tusk) was a bit of a noob), what do you think I'm supposed to do, go Omni? If not, what? I can't just walk forward and try bashing them. They'll kill me.

Now, if I did pull off an Omni, when I have no other choice (that I have to jump to creep wave), what do I do if that didn't finish them off?

'Carry in teamfight' is one concept I'm struggling with.

Granted, I think the last match the enemy has a better team comp, they have both Ursa, Sniper and Drow, then Lion and CM. Our team just had me, Oracle, Shadow Fiend, Zeus and Tusk.

There are a few basic concepts to approaching a teamfight. Many of these apply to all roles, but I will focus on how they apply to the carry role.

  • Don't get controlled. This is why BKB is such an important item on a lot of carries. If you can't comfortably walk into a fight, get a BKB, Blink Dagger, or Shadow Blade; or follow up properly after your team's initiation.
  • Target prioritization. Identify what is most likely going to stop you from doing your part, and either eliminate it first or control it while you deal with everyone else.
    • Be very careful about targeting heroes that no longer have a major purpose. Killing the Tidehunter after he Ravages is not very useful.
    • Sometimes you have to focus the tank. Sometimes you have to focus the support. Sometimes you have to focus the carry. It always changes with each game.
  • Understand what kind of fights your team wants. Do you want to five-man? Pick-off? Split-push?
  • Understand the tools you have. Some supports are offensive, and are focused around initiating or outright killing. Some supports are defensive, and are focused around letting you, the carry, go nuts.
  • Your role is not just to be the hard carry. Anyone can be an initiator with Blink and Abyssal, for example.

Looking at your lineup, I would have suggested picking up a Blink (maybe even a BKB too) at some point, having Oracle False Promise you, then Blink in, Omnislash if you have it, then go nuts. Focus on Sniper or Drow if possible. Your team should be able to handle the supports. Control Ursa with something like an Abyssal. You probably can't manfight Ursa 1 on 1, so let it go if it's just you and him. Your team lacks control in general, so you want to consider smoking so you have the initiation advantage.

At that point the enemy team seems to love sticking together, so teamfighting would be a chore. And we thought the Tusk can initiate well. Not so much, it seems.

I think I'm not ready to instantly do AA Jugg in the first phase. Because otherwise, I'd be passive like hell. I'm thinking that if I do invest on Blade Fury in the first phase, I can take advantage of its first phase damage, and then switch into being AA-Jugg when I know how the game flows... The item build will of course cater to AA-Jugg, but it's just how the pre-6 style is changed. Just have 1 Blade Dance and 1 Stat, before getting Omni.

What do you think, for newbies like me?

Today, I got the compendium. Decided to use some of my paysafe cash to buy a set for my friend who bought me last year's compendium as a very late compensation.

For the compendium activity where you have to predict the invitees to TI 5, I got 30 points out of 50. My incorrect guesses were HellRaisers, Team Tinker, Signature.Trust, and Na'vi. Now, I never followed pro games until a week or so ago, so maybe my guesses look obviously wrong, I don't know.

[up] I got 7/10 or 35/50. I messed up with Hell Raisers, Hyper Glory and Rave. I wasn't aware of how well Team Malaysia was doing, LGD and Empire were out of my radar, and I fucked up when I accidentally chose one more European team over China.

Wow, the Dota 2 part of this page is horrifically outdated. So outdated that Kuroky and Puppey are still members of Na'Vi.

I'd try and fix it, but I have a lot on my hands and I have no idea where to begin from anyway.

Yeah, Team Tinker's always been kind of a tier 2 team, and Na'Vi really hasn't been playing well for a while. They weren't really locks for invites.

I managed to catch some Empire games and I actually would have picked them (you know, if I bought the compendium). Team Malaysia and VP.Polar were a total blindside for me, though. I only just heard of Team Malaysia in a cast a week ago.

I mean, this was the very reason why he was such a crummy hero way back when, it feels like we've come full circle on this issue.

I actually went ahead and downloaded several versions of WC 3 Dota, including 1.0, 6.83c, and a "fun" version with overpowered Heroes. It was an odd experience, especially the 1.0 version. So many things that are so similar, yet so different. In all versions, buying advanced items is a pain, but Blizzard had no way of foreseeing the existence of recipes.

Unfortunately, I couldn't figure out how to have a match with anyone, so I tried out Arc Warden and Pit Lord against the computer. Arc Warden was just so awkward, I have no idea what to make of him. Pit Lord was cool, though. He seems designed as a counter to pushes, with a farming skill that's near-useless against Heroes, a passive that punishes the enemy for sending in tons of disposable minions (and a very broken skill in general), and a party-wide TP (potentially broken, but with a delay that's equivalent to everyone using a TP Scroll).

Also going to give Dota another shot, since maybe having a much better computer now will help me deal with camera shenanigans, probably.

No idea of what is going on.
