Dota 2

I've played Retro Dota (Gambler + 27-Spell Invoker), a Touhou game, and Pudge Wars, but to exit them I have to close Dota 2 itself. Generally, it was very awkward to start it up, as well. I really hope those old custom games are still playable.

@Logique: US servers might be a bit laggy for me; we can party if you can play SEA, or if not I can meet you halfway at EU servers.

I have finally broken 1.6k MMR, although I don't climb very fast because I don't play a lot of ranked.

Reborn Beta most likely coming this week. The excitement mounts.

I'm stuck in a bit of a catch-22. I don't really want to play bot matches that much anymore, but I need the practice, because when I'm rusty like this and jump in with a team, I feel like I'm letting them down by choking. Even so, I enjoy playing with a stack. So I should really practice up again with bot matches, but I don't really want to play bot matches that much anymore. >.> <.<

Looking briefly at the Dota 2 subreddit, it seems like plenty of League players are converting to Dota 2. Custom Games is that big of a draw it seems.

@Servers: I usually play at either the Brazilian or US East servers, mostly co-op bot matches. Though lately I haven't been playing much because my computer keeps turning off whenever I try to play Dota Also that got me stuck in low priority >_< I'm "victindotzero" over Steam, by the way. You can also find me in the TV Tropes Dota clan/group/whatever-that-is-called if you want to add me.

Got the Reborn beta downloaded. It seems to be running a bit smoother, though I can't help but feel the graphics seem a bit worse. I'll have to double-check the settings.

So the time comes for me to finally download this baby!

Then I always get a 'Searching For Dota 2 Network' nonstop...

I haven't downloaded Dota 2 Reborn Beta, but I just saw a comment on Reddit saying "Low" is the only option for graphics for now. I dunno if that's true, but if yes, that explains your comment.

It's a bit buggy right now. Our Winter Wyvern's projectile wasn't visible, and he complained that the shop kept auto-buying clarities for him whenever he bought wards. The game also randomly became safe to leave due to inactivity from the enemy team's Juggernaut...while he was still active in the game.

I love bringing up demo mode, picking Legion Commander, leveling her to max, and using Overwhelming Odds against half a dozen Axes.

On that note, I'm surprised that Axe is the spawned hero in demo mode. I figured it would be Sven.

...Why is it Axe, actually? Abaddon is first alphabetically.

Still no Team Fortress 2 announcer, I see. Does that game just not give them any ideas for a good announcer? Does Valve hate TF 2 now? Is that it?!?

I managed to get out of Low Priority because my computer stopped turning itself off whenever I play Dota (I hope I'm not jynxing it now ). Now I downloaded the Reborn Beta, but I have no idea how to run it. What should I do? I tried running Dota, but it opened the usual one.

Is it possible it didn't download fully? When you select the option to launch Dota 2, it should give you a pop-up letting you choose.

Why would Valve hate TF 2? It's more likely that

• 1: There's not much demand for a TF 2 announcer pack.
• 2: Valve don't have good ideas for one.
• 3: They do want to make one, but the voice actor they need is unavailable because reasons.

Try and open it on the library. I tried to open Reborn via my usual Dota 2 shortcut, but I got the normal Dota 2 instead.

Steam is telling me it's installed though... And now... It's downloading the original Dota 2 again, whaaaaaat?

EDIT: Ooohhh... Now I see a pop-up box. Thank you

EDIT 2: Wait, no, it's still not running.

EDIT 3: It's telling me this is the issue, but I haven't managed to fix it yet :/

Well, they got the VA on-board for a Glados announcer pack, so... I'm guessing "don't have any really good ideas for it."

I managed to run the Reborn Beta yesterday. Everything was so slow. Overthrow was queueing the download for as long as I was running it, the Hero Demo crashed Dota twice (after I waired almost one minute for my hero to spawn) and the match I played took so long I had to force quit the game because it wouldn't just load, even after I manage to connect to the match.

Are these common problems with the Beta?

If you're having issues with a beta, you're most certainly not the only one to notice them. Make sure to report them.

What is the better way to report them? I noticed the "report bug" feature in Reborn itself, but if it's a form I dunno if it's going to have the options that correspond to the problems I had.
