And, apparently, an OVA about Gloriana.
Schild und Schwert der ParteiLink to the source, please...I wanna see this for myself
Being cleverer than you look is better than looking cleverer than you are.Darjeeling mentions it on this page of chapter 12 of Motto - which, incidentally, is the best one yet.

Also, are Darjeeling and Pekoe just lesbians now? Because the subtext is...not especially "sub" with this one. (next page too) I thought the show creator wasn't a huge fan of that type o' thing. I don't really like fanservice myself, tbh.

Schild und Schwert der ParteiSo I finally saw the Anzio OVA and... Anime Anchovy is SO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT from her manga self that the majority of the tropes on her character page don't apply. How does one solve this problem?
Quite easy — just put "in the manga" or "in the OVA".
Aaaaaand the raws for the OVA are out and available. No translations yet though, but I expect the usual suspects to do it.
"I don't need RAWs!" "Not my diagnosis!"

The only resource you need for tropesThis was, in simplest terms, a damn good OVA. It brings back everything that made Girls und Panzer so enjoyable to watch, and for those wondering, yes, it can be watched in RAW form at 720p. Someone's got the screenshots, so it can be done!
Being cleverer than you look is better than looking cleverer than you are.I'll likely wait for the subs and then watch the battle scenes raw.
What I liked was how damned cheerful the students at Anzio were. I mean, one of them (during Yukari's infiltration) admits that, since they're poor anyway, it's best to enjoy themselves as much as possible.
Some other thoughts:
- The History team live with each other, and what's more, Caesar not only could speak and read Italian, she comes from Anzio (Carpaccio is apparently a childhood friend of hers).
- LOL at the training session, with the Pz4 standing in for the P40 (nicknamed Piyopiyo), and the Type 89 standing as the carro velloce. We're treated again to how fearless Miho seems to be (uses herself as a marker for the max distance a Stu GIII's gun can shoot!), all the while with the Pz38t chasing the Type 89 around.
- That misdirection tactic! Pretty smart for Anzio, have to say.
- Aaaaaaand we finally find out why Anchovy wasn't around for the final episode: they partied so hard they slept through the Ooarai - Kuromorimine battle.
Well, at first I thought a spectator wearing a Tokiwadai vest in the last episode is from Anzio...
If you see me I'm on an accidental Archive Binge. So, in essence, Anzio doesn't give a fuck.
Schild und Schwert der ParteiYou are now picturing Anzio driving a CV off a cliff and landing on a Pravda KV-2 because fucks given = zero.
Nous restons ici.I would pay to see that. I quite like the CV series.
Schild und Schwert der ParteiThat CV at the end got fucking DEMOLISHED.
Thank god thiss show is non lethal because that tank got rekt hard.

I find the OVA to be the epitome of the show in terms of action, comedy and execution. Now, if only it's translated....
Same as usual.... Wing it.
AK subs already, well, subbed it. It's been out for more than a day now.
Oh, and for those curious on WHAT Italian march was used as Anzio's theme...
Also, translations of the third Blu-ray booklet suggests that there are a few other Senshado schools apart from Nishizumi-ryu (which was specified to be an offensive breakthrough style in said booklets):
- Shimada-ryu: focuses on mobility warfare and recon
- Murakami-ryu, Kumano-ryu: marine-type assaults (ala Normandy landings)

That's kinda what Miho does, isn't it? That's why Maho's final lineup was kinda poor. Miho's best when you can't see what she's up to. Can't chase anyone in an Elefant.
Ooh. I wonder if we'll start seeing stuff like the Amtanks in later seasons/the movie? From the Halls of Montezuma, to the shores of Tripoli...

Nice choice of the Anzio music. Though I was kinda holding out hope for La Ritirata, even though it's a naval song.

Schild und Schwert der ParteiI'm pretty sure most people work best in battles when the other guy can't see what they're up to. That said, Miho did favor mobility over a stand up battle unless she had a overwhelming terrain advantage, but I do have to wonder if this is her preferred method of fighting or if she was just working around the advantages/disadvantages of her own team. More often than not she was outnumbered and outgunned, a definite case of going in with "the army you have not the army you wish you have."
Herp derp. What I meant was that she favors what are essentially tank-guerilla tactics and not the straight-up "NO CAP KILL ALL" tactics of the Nishizumi school. I think that is her preferred method of combat, regardless of numbers or vehicles, since its often said she was constrained by Shiho's style.
Schild und Schwert der ParteiYukari the Infiltrator returns!
Gotta say, loved Anzio's enthusiasm! Although they are so cheerful to the point of being a tad dumb.
Oorai character of the OVA: Caesar!
Nice strategy. Now, if only they were a tad smarter about it...
And now I've seen with my own eyes how Anzio was put to rout. EDIT: But that was one heck of an effort they put up.
No, really, loved Anzio's enthusiasm! Really love how they all stick together.
So that's why they were no-shows at the finals. Again, so enthusiastic, some brain cells were lost in transition.
Also, they may be constantly poor, but they sure have enough ingredients to make a ton of nice Italian cuisine. Yum!

While it's a bit of fanon prior to the OAV, this does show that the schools we've seen so far definitely have other things to offer aside from Senshado. Some people posit now that Anzio's alumni have a good-to-better chance to get into culinary schools, for example.
Same here. For the record, I just checked AK-Scans' site/page, and Chapter 13 is also out.
