x12 Apparently, if someone who read the L Ns over on MAL is to be believed, they did handjob and oral before they noticed they were being watched in the novels. Though, with those flashbacks to last episdoe interspersed in that whole segment it makes sense she would have skeeved herself off enough to stop, even though I get the feeling she and the others have done similar things already anyway.
and of course bring us to the very big question...is this their first time? or just one of the many but stop midway because some realization/intrusion?
because if MAL to be believed, saki and satoru is quite experienced with it (handjob,oral)...
P.S : or maybe they just have done it with other that much...
The latest episode didn't suffer from budget cuts, it suffered from an art director who's style just doesn't fit in this show. Which is sad because the style can fit (see Casshern Sins)
I honestly didn't notice a degrade in animation quality. O_O
Maybe because of all the ACTION.
Eugggh they didn't get that far in the anime, so what does it matter?

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.My ???'s and ...'s was because of the way the plot-story turned out. Let's just say I want to drop the show already because I've reached the point of disinterest wherein I automatically notice stupid plot points that I can't help but think happened cause the author was either lazy (or just didn't care). Usually when this happens, it's way too easy for me to get into ranting mode.
Unfortunately (for me), I kinda want to keep on watching cause I'm feeling morbidly curious of how much (stupid-er) the story will get.
Oh, and the plot points I'm talking about isn't about the bonobo-inspired plot point.
Plants are aliens, and fungi are nanomachines.Yeah, the Off-Model in this episode was pretty bad. Though, judging by how the writing is with this series so far and how seriously A-1 seems to be with this series, I doubt it would be the norm. So yeah, looking forward to the next episode nonetheless.
And that naked monster... I'll never unsee that

Is it the atrocity of the balloon dog, and how casually the priest died then? Or how we don't (yet) know what happened to the others besides Saki and Satoru? Or how quickly Saki recovered from being unable to run? Or something about Bakenezumi politics and worldviews? NVM, not sure I want to activate rant mode.
The bonobo-plot is the only thing that bothers me, but I just don't like gratuitous sexual content (thankfully, it apparently was not as bad as the novel).
Anyway...I didn't notice the Off-Model (but I assume it affected the bakenezumi the most), but some of the backgrounds (like the lilies-of-the valley and the cage) were lovely.

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.Nothing serious business. It's little stupid plot points which is easy to ignore if Suspension of Disbelief is up.
If a show disinterests me too much, I auto-go into nitpicky mode cause Suspension of Disbelief is down.
For example, who made the crater - the explod-y animal or the priest-dude? If it's the former, the resulting crater cuts down on the lethality of its shuriken bones, which would have gotten main characters had it not been for the crater.
Less ?!?!? if the crater was made by the priest-dude (in order to save the main characters), but even if it was made by priest-dude, I still feel HUH? cause there's like nothing in the episode giving notice to such self-sacrifice.
Another thing - when one of the main characters shouted that they should separate, cue eyeroll cause nothing cuts down mental, emotional, physical power by going your own separate way, most especially if at least two in the group is already scared out of their minds.
Yeah sure, separating is good idea since the enemy has range weaponry, but they were going into a forest, not staying out in the open. BLARGH. At that point, I was just convinced that the creator/s didn't want to deal with all five main characters running for their lives. Easier to just do with one or two at time, mucking about in the woods.
(Let's just say I'd prefer to see a bonobo-inspired orgy than THAT.)
Then, boy character like keeps on jumping to save girl character. At least 3 times, I see boy leaping to save main girl character, and each sequence took too long. This is probably more to do with animation budget than story plot point, but damn - it felt more annoying each time it happened.
If I actually was fond of the main female character, I'd probably be mad about this episode highlighting what a Damsel in Distress she was. But since I don't care what happens to her (or to any of the main kids), I'm just feeling BLAH by how obviously lazy or low-budget it was.
Plants are aliens, and fungi are nanomachines.I could forgive the.... Animation drop of episode 5. Almost every show has an episode like that.
For some reason, I feel this show is going to be the one with the biggest impact on me this season.
Happens to be known as Walrus Jones in other circles.Yeah, I did notice the animation quality drop.
I might not have minded so much if the episode actually got anywhere. Actually I feel we made more progress with the exposition episode.
So the pacing was poor too, and the last episode was infinitely better.
Plus this episode didn't even feature most of the protagonists.
No new mysteries were revealed.
The quicker we move on the better I say.

"Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes."I might be the only one in this forum, but I actually liked the changes Shigeyasu Yamauchi made to the art style for this episode. I know that some might be upset with the radically different character designs, but I think it really fit the action-packed and nightmarish vibe this episode had.
Yep, this show and Psycho-Pass have to be my two favorite anime of Fall 2012 thus far. Really can't wait to see what happens to Satoru and Saki in Episode 6.

Together, we are one.Episode is out.
Looking a little sadistic there, Satoru.
Looks like Saki accidentally removed all of Satoru's power limiters
But despite all the ceremony they're basically just controlling and sealing the powers with hypnosis. Well the only part I don't understand is the incantation word/code phrase.
I was getting sociopathic vibes, but at the same time it's nice to see them wielding serious power without restraint.
"Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes."Presumably it's some kind of implanted suggestion, with the phrase acting as a "key" to unlock (parts of) the stuff that's been "forgotten" through hypnosis.
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntI guess that does work, but we have to assume the word is the same for all of them.
And you have to wonder why they know the word.
And they probably should have unlocked Saki's powers too.

"Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes."I was thinking that each person would not be able to understand/read their own mantra so it's only through another person that their Cantus can be sealed/unsealed so it makes sense that Saki couldn't unseal her own Cantus. I want to know how the dream gave Saki the idea to unseal Satoru's Cantus and why just then and not before. Also, I couldn't have been the only one thinking of mana replenishment while Satoru was exhausted from using his Cantus
"If music be the food of love, PLAY ON" - William Shakespeare...What the fuck did I just watch?
This time the animation really did degrade a whole lot.
I really don't understand anything that happened up to the unsealing of Satoru's cantus at all. Nor did I understand much of what followed, actually. The Tarantula colony can transform? What? I would be more accepting of Saki suddenly hallucinating and unlocking Satoru's cantus if Satoru had reacted to it with surprise at all...or if he would do the same for her...but nope, moving right along.
The music was cool though...

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.Cannot get myself to give episode 6 a try.
Plants are aliens, and fungi are nanomachines.Episode 6: It's a good thing I don't have psychic powers because I really, really enjoyed the myriad ways with which Satoru destroyed the enemies.
Oh and the enemies are adorable.
So. That fifth guy in the group. I just realized that not only can I not remember his name, I'm not even sure he's a guy.
Oh, and episode out.

Pretty certain he's a guy. ...Can't help with the name, though
Isn't it Mamoru?
It felt like there was a ton of material missing from this ep. Way too many fade-to-black cuts. At least we're done with the Bakenezumi for now. Time skip ahoy!
Awww I'll miss Squealer. I really took a liking to that ugly-cute groveling helper rat of theirs. Also, for a rat Kiroumaru looked pretty cool.
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.
