He's right and wrong at the same time.
Spider-Man is not the center of the universe. He is far from it. A more accurate description would be to say that Spier-Man is Kevin Bacon. He's been everywhere, he knows everyone, but it's not because the world revolves around him. Quite the contrary, it's because he's very good at revolving around the world.
Every superhero has a niche. Captain America is political espionage. Thor is magical adventures in far-flung lands. The Fantastic Four is fantastic adventures beyond the edge of science. Dare Devil is street-level crimefighting. Etc. etc.
Spider-Man's niche is getting involved in things. Any things. He sees something happening and he jumps in. He sees a superhero and he swings by to see what they're doing, and can he join, and if you say no, he's going to join anyway, so deal with it. He's been everywhere and done everything because he gets involved in everything that everyone is doing. He's a wildcard, leaping headfirst into any adventure he can find.
Trying to make the universe revolve around him would be a mistake, because Spider-Man is at his best when he's showing up out of nowhere to take part in your adventure.

Spidey's involvement in the Avengers was brief, and he quit once the Civil War started.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatNo, he didn't.
He remained a part of the New Avengers after Civil War, and has remained a part of the New Avengers title ever since.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.I remember he was there for the Cage-led New Avengers but he had a tendency to just sit around. He didn't really have to be there.
He had a pretty major role in Avengers vs. X-Men, mentoring Hope Summers and defeating two of the Phoenix Five simultaneously.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.I think that was SpOck, technically.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatNope, that was before SpOck. SpOck's first event wasn't until Age Of Ultron.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.That last pic is definitely Mysterio. Oh, this is awesome. I've been waiting to see that guy in CGI for so freaking long.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. Please tell me Bruce Campbell is finally playing Mysterio.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatI find it hard to believe that Electro and The Lizard wont be returning; considering the ground work exists for them already, and Electro has been really well received.
I can see Electro being left out for the sake of relative fairness. Seriously, the guy is incredibly overpowered.
Hay, you don't want spider-man to have it easy do you?
And not only that, but Electro is on most versions of the Six in the comics. A founding member, in fact. Too bad they're including the Goblin in his place.
Weird in a Can (updated M-F)Yeah, the Goblin is rarely, if ever a member of the Sinister Six. They're Ock's baby, and he doesn't play well with Osborn.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.I can't fault the movies for streamlining the conflict.
Though Spectacular showed the fun there is in seeing the infighting between Spidey's villains, it had a long time to get to that point. And, after all, the real Goblin, Norman Osborn can come into play at any time.
Seeing a Green Goblin in the six will be weird image I'll admit.
I still miss Defoe as the Goblin.
There are many problems with the old Spiderman movies but god damn it he was the perfect Green Goblin imaginable.
Oh really when?Absolutely, I really wish he could have been a may stay of the series. But it's difficult to argue how they could have ended that conflict in a satisfying way with Norman still alive.
Though faking his death would have been in keeping with the character, and it would have made Harry's struggle all the more interesting to watch; it's difficult trying to hint at such a thing at the end of a film which doesn't feel cheep.
I'd like to see Shocker, since those "Daily Bugle articles" show a good grasp of the character- that the guy is a genius, but is ridiculous, both in terms of his bad luck and decision to use his genius for petty crime. One thing that sticks with me is that although there seemed to be an implication that he escaped prison with help from a backer (Sinister Six foreshadowing probably), the guy somehow managed to build his tech using resources available to him in prison in order to escape.
I like how in Spectacular, Green Goblin and Mysterio kind of mirror Spidey in taking on a different, quippy personality when they put on a mask, which would be a good aspect to include in the film (kind of thinking here of getting a Norman Goblin in the future).
For casting, was thinking of Matt Frewer for Mysterio, if older, or maybe Neil Patrick Harris if younger- thinking of someone who is hammy and plays characters who are in love with the sound of their own voice, but don't take themselves totally seriously.
And I was thinking of who besides J.K. Simmons could possibly do justice to Jameson. Only name that came to mind for me was Clancy Brown.

Edit, edit, edit, edit the wikiNPH is also actually a talented stage magician, so he has the abilities to do any quick slight of hands.
Went to see it last night.
I liked it better then Sam Raimi's spider man movies, but something didn't fell righty about it.
I guess the comedy and seriousness wasn't balanced as well as it could have been.
Though the way it handles multiple villains is, for the most part, simply better then Spiderman 3.
moslty, except rhino, Who appears in the last few minutes as a glorified cameo and sequel hook for next years Sinister six movie.
Oh, and Electro gets blown up by his own electricity thansk to Spider man and Gwen Stacy.
Watch SymphogearYeah, Rhino was a let down for me too. The actor seemed to be there to have some fun rather than anything else
Absolutely I agree that Amazing 2 is a great Spider-man film. It's only problem for me is that it's pacing and many story lines mean you don't get a feeling that it's working towards something tangible. But all the scenes themselves are well written and brilliantly directed.
Calm down cutewithoutthe. Targetmaster Joe was just asking a question.
EDIT: Anyway, speaking of crossovers.
