I thought about that one, and I've come to the conclusion that the only way to depower a character is to retcon him within the canon, otherwise you'd create a branching fiction at best. But the Mary Sue argument at the very beginning of the metaguard stuff has proven that we have no idea how canon works here. I wouldn't make guesses.
On a side note, the concentration of WMG hats per post is getting higher and higher. (Extrapolating, I predict a Gainax Ending.)
The Other Wiki could really use Laconic entries.Actually, we've been made to effectively have our characters published under a Share-Alike licence. Attribution is necessary, but he can make changes as he sees fit. As can anyone else who gets a hold of it.
Does that change the character, or simply make another version of it?
A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit in.I'd say that it probably creates a different version on another layer.
"I don't know how I do it. I'm like the Mr. Bean of sex." -DrunkscriblerianI wonder waht happens when you have 2 stories about the same character, but each one describing the character in a different way.
I've wondered about that, as I adapted an old story of mine for my Guardian, but I made sure to drastically change the story so the characters wouldn't be too similar. Whether Mr. A will get mad about that, I dunno.
I would say that any change in a character that did not gel with the author's canon would create a new instantation of the character with the original character then becoming a prime.

It's meat on a stick...so, yes.I mean, like, fairy tales and myths. These gets many variations through the ages. What happens to said characters?
Is anyone else concerned that we haven't heard from Joe lately?
On a side note: do you think there are an infinite number of realities beyond the wall, or is there just one big reality where all fictional characters exist?
It's meat on a stick...so, yes.Joe adds a new video every couple of days. If he doesn't put up something this weekend, then I'll be worried.
I don't know...I have a feeling Joe is in danger. I would not be at all surprised to see a video posted by his captors...just guessing of course.
It's meat on a stick...so, yes.I'd say that the myriad fictional worlds are separate, since some of them operate on completely different physical laws, like Harry Potter and Doctor Who. They just wouldn't make sense existing in the same universe.
I'm just nervous about the lack of communication in general. Mr. A hasn't said anything since he posted the link to WTF Episode 7, the Cat told yankeewhite something about a trip that he'll elaborate on "soon" (and I'm conditioned to treat "soon" as Valve Time, so it means "whenever we want"), and we haven't been able to sell Poirot on our mystery yet.
At this point I think we have to find the URLs, and we can't move any farther without them.
What I was talking about last night◊
The top part is what the overlayed url's look like so far, and the bottom is my interpretation of the letters. Note that this isn't all of the url's, but the others simply don't seem to fit together with these 'two.' I can't remember off the top of my head who's images made up the two above.
He's admitted to being a player, so don't worry about him.

Is reality ends actually a character in this? Anyway I think he reads this thread 'cos he just tweeted about Mr. Administrator using 'I' instead of 'we.'
Marching on together. He's a confirmed player.
First interpretation: That may be an n rather than an r, and I think the following letter is g.
Overall: What does it look like if you do overlay them? They both have http://m, and it looks like the s of #2 is the letter before the a of #1.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.Man I hope we get more pieces discovered soon.
@ Adell
I see the "http://mk---anjm-". It it either a K or 2 letters(L or J or if not J something that dips lower), I feel. Don't ask why, just it what I'm reading as.

Why don't we ask Poirot to solve this mistery to us? It doesn't seem a coincidence that he offered his services when the packages started to arrive.
EDIT: I mean the URL mistery

People have been working on it, but he seems to be acting unhelpful.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.@Telcontar: They don't line up perfectly, which is what threw me off, but I can chalk that up to image quality and the resizing of the images...but it does look like they may in fact actually be one url after all when added together. At least those 4-5 pieces.
Second attempt, images combined◊
Red letters are guess's/not as concrete as the others, or are simply just spaces I couldn't figure out. Your interpretations? Can you think of anything that has these letters in them?
Possibly! Let me work with that

That g... the one in red. Could it be a d?
Because right now my brain is saying "minds and" something.
EDIT:"Belgian" isn't a language. The population speaks a mix of Dutch, French, and German depending on their culture. (You'll notice St. Deduction mixes Gratuitous French into his posts.) If it does say "and", then that eliminates what I know of French and German (which isn't much, admittedly).

Maybe it is some sort of Belgian word?
Edit: Sorry if I offended anyone. I don't know much about other cultures yet. But it could be a foreign page prehapse.

I do believe it IS another d, because if it is, another url piece fits into the image that originally overlapped incorrectly if it was placed over the first d.
Third attempt, now with a new piece of url edited in◊ I'll admit though, that the 'I' and 'N' Between 'M' and 'D' may still be wrong. but 'dsand' is very likely at this point.
Google results for mindsandmatter(educational website) or mindsandmachine (which is some tech company) are both inconclusive, so don't guess those words lol.

Makes sense. Since Mr. A sees Joe as being important, there's a chance that he actually is responsible for the cracks getting worse.
Also, returning to the topic of the metaguards, I don't see how Mr. A could misuse them. Mainly because the characters still belong to there respective writers. If he made an attempt to use them in a way the creators disagree with, the creators could just depower them somehow, right?
