That's pretty obviously maniacal laughter. Not a whole lot of ways to interpret "MWAHAHAHA!" And then of course she admits it's just for the lights.

Well here is the closeup of the girl's faces. You can tell that Panty is clearly thinking "WTF just happened? That hurt like a mother!" and Stocking's dopey grin slightly better portrays her state of bliss.◊

I admit a little context might be needed, but it is a suggestion. Panty & Stocking broke the mold with what they could get away with showing, so Refuge in Audacity doesn't even begin to cover it all. yes, that suspicious creamy white liquid is exactly what you think it is.

That, shrunk down to wiki size, would be more clear than the full body shot when paired with the actual shock panel (and would be SFW). I'll put it together, gimme a bit.

1. As I said, Craig Mc Cracken. The Powerpuff influence is obvious from the style (definitely moreso than that Demashita Mazinger Z thing), and those loons at Gainax have to be familiar with the original. PPG pushed its fair share of boundaries back in the day. Now I feel old.

3. Not a great image, but a bit better than the mouse. Maybe just cropping it to leave Mizz Happy there alone, since that's the point of the trope.

Well, it's a well known fact that PS&G was intentionally inspired by PPG and other western cartoons. It puts South Park to shame in terms of sheer vulgarity, and it changes between dozens of animation styles to reflect various western productions.

I digress though, since it's getting off topic. I don't really have any other suggestions, except one.

I vote to pull the current image since a lab rat doesn't show the trope at all. When a better image is suggested, THEN we can put it up.

I don't like it, though admittedly mostly just because it's so ugly.

The second PS&G one is workable, if a bit weird looking. The full body suggestion isn't quite as intuitive, and I think it pushes the boundaries of good taste a bit much.

"Weird looking" can't really be helped. The show deliberately uses something of around 8 different western animation art styles, including flash animation.
