So is this like one of those stat sheet management games?
Sounds kinda like EVE Online, though naturally that depends on how much time is spent looking through spreadsheets.

This is a signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine....no. If you look at the video, you'll see that the main point is to design spaceship given a fuselage and discrete modules, kind of like building a sea ship. You're also given requirements to meet if you're doing a contract job, such as don't go above X budget, allow a crew of Y people, etc. So essentially it's a spaceship engineering simulator with some sort of corporation management thrown in (which might involve spread sheets). You can also simulate a bunch of scenarios such as boarding, asteroid storm, mutiny, etc to see how the ship does in those situations. Pretty neat.
Looking forward to this.
EDIT: And thanks to Indiegogo + Pay Pal, the second stretch goal has been met, allowing for online play. Which means (here comes the Elephant in the Room) he only has 10k to raise for the infamous Atlas Shrugged inspired campaign.

And it's on Steam Greenlight now.
indiegogo? this some sort of kickstarter knock-off?
game looks good though. I'll probably kick in 30 bucks, unlimited online access sounds good.

I'm baaaaaaackUmm, its been around before Kickstarter got famous :P Not sure whether its older than Kickstarter or not though.
oh, alright. Never heard of it before.
I'm baaaaaaackGot noting other than...please don't reach $26000...
Give me cute or give me...something?Hey, it could be theoretically good story line inspired by stupid political book
Indiegogo has been around a while. It's changed its format to resemble Kickstarter now, tho.
Indiegogo usually was on the level of $500-$2000 fundraising goals. It's now increased to 5 digit goals thanks to Kickstarter.
Jonah FalconAlmost sounds like that old Star Trek Starship Designer game, only much better. There was pretty much no point to the STSD game at all.
Happiness is zero-gee with a sinus cold.Well, STSD was mostly an interactive technical manual rather than a game.
I'd be interested in this, but I have OS compatibility issues.
I can't help but find some humor in the scenario of some hypothetical non-Objectivist 50 or 100 dollar pledgers thinking "Pfft, this will never make that third goal!", said goal being accomplished, being later asked for their pictures and refusing to give them due to the possiblity of them being immortalized as the crew of the SS John Galt.
Who?
I'm baaaaaaackThat question has a very long, dull and obnoxious answer.
(Short answer: character from Atlas Shrugged)

I was going to read the long one, but you werent kidding. DAMN.
I'm baaaaaaackYeah. This is one of the reasons why the book is so infamous. Imagine reading an already huge Doorstopper and suddenly coming across THAT. A fifty page long speech. And imagining the people in universe LISTENING TO IT.
There's a reason why the Author Filibuster page has the quote "Eventually, the question you ask stops being 'Who is John Galt?' and becomes 'When will John Galt shut up?'".
Can't wait to see people's reactions if/when they make the third part of the movie and are faced with that in the theater.

I downloaded the Alpha. The interface is a bit glitchy, and I can't figure out how to do two things: Allocate power from the generators, and keep my crew numbers below 25 in total. But first, I need to allocate power.
EDIT: Figured out power, now just to make all the objectives green...

Happiness is zero-gee with a sinus cold.Hehe, the monologue takes three hours in-story, but real people take six to read it.
I am morbidly interested in a campaign based on that Wall Banger. Genocide is ok when you're a self-righteous capitalist! I hope there are not-rescue missions were I don't allow suffering people to board MY bitching John Galt because they can't pay or contribute!

"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984Exactly why pure capitalism is a bad idea.
I'm baaaaaaackAnyway. A discussion about the merits or flaws of a book shouldn't have much bearing here.
Trying to get my ship to come within specs, but good grief is it difficult trying to Tetris everything into the confines of the hull itself, and by adding one system (like Air/Water tanks), you end up needing another module (life-support) to get the first system to work. This bloats our your required crewmembers, and I end up going over the 25-crew limit imposed upon me by the Corp that commissioned me to build the thing in the first place.
Happiness is zero-gee with a sinus cold.Welcome to Engineering! Unreasonable requirements are all part of the fun!

so THATS what I have to look foward too...(assuming I buckle down and get the college application stuff done.)
I'm baaaaaaack
