While I'm not too surprised that I couldn't find any discussion on Suzuka (it's been several years after all), I AM surprised that there isn't any pre-existing discussion or thread about Kimi No Iru Machi, especially given the sheer notoriety the latter series seems to have in other fora like MAL.

Anyway, to rectify this, I thought of starting this thread. And just to make sure that it isn't RAGE post after RAGE post about Kn IM (aka Kimi no RAGE Machi to my friends), I'm also opening the thread to all the other series done by Seo. In my case it's Princess Lucia (which seems to be published in tandem with Kn IM), but this also includes Crossover, W's Doubles, and Love Letter.

So, where to start...

I actually finished and enjoyed Suzuka(though it is a slow series and does get repetitive at points). Surprisingly, Kimi No Iru Machi I find to be better in some ways; yeah it's a bit Eba focused but there's many different plot directions. On the other hand, this same approach can make it boring(what's going to happen, why are they just dragging this). Haruto is a fairly likeable protagonist; they do go to lengths to make him a responsible if flustered individual whose occasionally snarky. Of course, they do occasionally pull him into the Butt-Monkey role out of some contrived obligation.

As of current chapters, they reeallly seem to milking that Nagoshi misunderstanding gag.

I never got into Suzuka and Kimi no Iru Machi, though my classmates talked about the former a lot. Might try one of Seo's manga, which ones would you rec?

Cross over: It is about basketball

Half and Half: There is only few chapters aqnd it doesn't update well, but it has good settings and main characters has good chemistry.

Princess Lucia is terribly generic and Kimi no Iru Machi gradualy sarted suck big time (not recommended)

[up] ...I actually am reading Half and Half, I dunno how I missed that it was by Seo Kouji.

Cross Over... I shall try it out when I have the time. I will assume this deals with romance about as much as basketball, is that correct?

Yeah, If I remember well it were 2/3 sport 1/3 love stuffs, but Seo Kouji generaly isn't good in romances...

RISE! RISE!

Anyway, looks like KNIM is ending in two chapters, and Seo's new series will be entitled Fuuka... And will be about Suzuka's daughter. Oooookay.

Countdown to trainwreck... How many chapters you suppose?
