This is true, and those who know of Mikasa will know they aren't fucked, but the general populace would flip their shits.

You know Eren really reminds me of Anakin Skywalker in some respects. Except replace Tusken Raiders with Titans.

Levi's merch is still selling like crack, he's not going anywhere.

RIP Akira Toriyama, taken from us far too soon.

Once again, I couldn't fully appreciate any of the two-page spreads because CR hates those.

It's like chess with titans.

Since I expected (way) worse, latest chapter actually felt like a breather chapter to me.

I'm incredibly on the fence in terms of Reiner and Bertolt dying this arc. On the one hand, them making it out of the series would ultimately be a Karma Houdini considering all the blood on their hands. But on the other, it feels like darn time to find out why all of this happened in the first place. And those two, I think, are probably the best to be able to explain their motivations.

I mean, there is still Annie in her crystal. But she seems a lot less driven by the Mission/Cause itself, as opposed to simply her loyalty and love towards her father. I kind of feel like, with how much focus Isayama has given to Reiner and Bertolt being driven by something overwhelming and feeling like they had absolutely no other choice.....I think we deserve to hear from them their reasons.

Also, they need to tell us WHERE YMIR IS. Ymir, probably the only person at this point with all the cards. Who said she felt sympathy for their situation, and wanted to save them in spite of their people screwing her over/being terrified of them.

I'm not sure how surviving this arc would make them Karma Houdinis? Just because they might not die here doesn't mean they won't die, period.

But I doubt they will. They're tied into too many things and if this story has a ways to go, it probably won't be awhile before they're gone.

I'm guessing we'll see the basement by the end of this arc, and then Ymir will show up with answers in tow. Either that or the SL will head out to BRA's village and meet her there (hopefully Historia will be there too by then). I just don't know how Annie figures into this.

^^ Well, that's why I said the series and not the arc.

But like I said, I feel the most satisfying thing would be for them to have a proper confrontation and explanation. Not hearing it from them feels like it would do a disservice, especially with all the complicated emotions tied into it.

I've been thinking about Historia being involved, and sadly I don't think we'll be seeing her in battle any more. She's the Queen now, so they definitely cannot risk her being out on the front lines or leaving Wall Sina while she's still firmly establishing her rule. They need her there, to maintain their power and steer humanity in a better direction.

[up] That's true, but now that the story seems to be shifting out beyond the walls, it doesn't make sense not to have her along for the ride. I can't see Ymir making it all the way back into Sina for their reunion.

Historia's the Queen-Who-Punched-Levi, she can do whatever the hell she wants. [lol]

(Unless Levi breaks her legs to "protect" her, but I doubt he cares as much about her as he does about Erwin. tongue)

Off topic but I just re-read the chapter on crunchyroll, they fixed the double page spread.

[up][up] Don't think that's off-topic.

/too lazy to check the correction (Good!)

[up][up][up] Am gonna assume that Shingeki merchandise still (very much) targets the yaoi fandom. Kinda makes me wonder if Sherlock merc is similar.

If Monkey Titan don't fling more rocks next chapter, am gonna assume his throwing arm has a recharging time.

I love how in the page with Reiner and Erwin staring at each other after Reiner has realized that Eren is setting a trap, the Armored Titan is giving Erwin a subtle "oh, you mother-fucker" look with sightly narrowed eyes.

I was just re-reading the manga, when I came upon a scene which now seems hilarious:

(Chapter 60 Page 49)

What the heck are they tying his left hand to?

So yeah, chapter out...

I doubt Reiner could have survived that... unless he uses the same trick as when Levi stabbed him. But his Oh, Crap! face seemed a bit too genuine for that... sad

Yep, I think he died. Which is sort of a shame, I thought he was the second most interesting of the Titan Trio.

Yeah that trick he pulled with Levi won't work here. He moved some of his brain functions such his titan power to the rest of his body which allowed him to transform even after having his spine cut all the way through. The thunder spears are going to destroy his head and his body. The only chance I see for him living his to transform inside of his existing titan, but we know he can't do that. He and Bertolt wouldn't have had wait until nightfall to run off with Eren.

You assume he's able to do such a thing. Though it's possible he could do so, but believed he couldn't, but I guess we'll wait and see.

So long Reiner. Thanks for all the fish.
