The pics aren't necessarily a bad thing, but I kinda like the idea of a collage on Chest Insignia...I'm thinking one from DC, one from Marvel, and a couple from other companies or even other media for variety's sake.
I like the picture on Chest Insignia better than the one on Brought to You by the Letter "S". Maybe move that picture there, and choose a new one for CI? A few:
- Spider-Man◊ (with the "3" cropped off)
- Captain Hammer◊
- Batman◊
- The Incredibles◊

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Without being able to look at those links right now, I like the idea of moving the Superman pics around.
Whoever Captain Hammer is, that image is great. Supporting moves as you suggest.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.Vote for Captain Hammer.
Any of them is good for me.
Pinball cleanup threadBump...Captain Hammer is good with me.
I find Captain Hammer's CI kinda small.
I like Hawkman◊ for CI. He doesn't even wear a SHIRT yet he STILL has a chest insignia.
Clock is set.
I do like the concept of a Chest Insignia when one's not even wearing a shirt.
I'll work on this one this afternoon...hitting the snooze.
I say Hawkman for Chest Insignia. I agree that the fact that he manages one without even wearing a shirt is an excellent illustration of the trope.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Maybe we can find a better image of Hawkman?
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.Aesthetically, I like the one in #10 best. And I think it does the best job of putting the chest insignia front and center, as it were.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.I'm good with Hawkman.
Moon◊Hawkman works for me...he's paid in seed and suet.
I assume to the equivalent of minimum wage?
Moon◊For a caption "Chest Insignias are obligatory. Shirts are optional"
That works.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.
Okay, it's not actually a duplicate, and this may sound kind of nitpicky, but both this trope and Brought to You by the Letter "S" use Superman's S-shield, in rather similar images even. (It's too bad the current image on Dressed in Layers is so good with a justification of the trope to boot...) There's gotta be a gazillion potential examples we can use, though admittedly none are likely to be quite as iconic as the big S.
