Just saw the pilot last night on Disney XD. It surprisingly has a lot of high quality action scenes. I think I see a lot of potential with this one.

Don't mind me. I'm just a creepy little lurker.

It looks like Kick Buttowski meets American Dragon (I haven't watched it yet)

I had no idea the guy behind Invader Zim created this until I saw a Tumblr post 3 days ago! ...it doesn't LOOK like anything he'd even attempt to pitch!

Looked it up. Apparently he was only the character designer. That makes more sense.

[up]I guess Jhonen's finally accepted the fact that he can do "cute". It seems like he was rebelling against it for awhile; I mean, did you see his recent drawing of GIR? (And by recent, I mean, "from some time between when the show got cancelled and today")

EDIT: Or did you mean a designer on Invader Zim?

No, he's the character designer on Randy Cunningham and nothing else.

A show which, I might add, does not have a Wikipedia article!

Jhonen Vasquez did the character designs?! I thought he gave up with Western Animation after Zim got cancelled! O_O

[up]I guess if he's in a position where he doesn't have to talk to the suits and can put up his pink windows, he's happy.

Please tell me that catchphrase is a joke. I refuse to believe someone thought "That's the cheese" was a good catch phrase, and ran it by their boss who also thought it was a good catch phrase, then focused tested ti on a bunch of kids who didn't say it was stupid.

Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.

I don't know why, but I strangely enjoy this show. Especially the art style, which made it no surprise to me when it was mentioned that it was done by Jhonen Vasquez. Sure, it's pretty corny, but the action scenes are pretty great and at some times I do find it laughable. All in all I've watched any new episodes that have come on, and kinda hope it becomes a success.

Just to confirm, Disney didn't animate this show? It has the "Disney's" name on it, but it seems to be done by other studios(a combination of Titmouse and Boulder media). Was it a commission?

Titmouse.

Disney airs shows that are not animated by them. Networks do that all the time.

It's a really enjoyable show - especially for what is just another show about kids going to school, yet actuall worth my time . I surprisingly definitely like it more than Invader Zim, knowing whom this came from (and I don't even like that show - call it blasphemy, I know. I don't really care! Go away!).

Fact: Passion Pictures, known for producing the Gorillaz music videos, animated the opening sequence. .......I'd just have them animate the whole thing. No offense to Titmouse, from who I know several people.

@Shota Yes I know that, but I just find it misleading when they still do that "In Case You Forgot Who Wrote It". I know some shows on Disney didn't have it(like Proud Family or the Jetix shows)

I'm very inclined to ignore this show's presence. I've seen enough previews, and the catchphrases are TERRIBLE.

I don’t even know anymore.

Yeah— The dialogue, pretty terrible, not gonna lie. But the animation and art style makes up for it, in my opinion.

Jhonen Vasquez, my artistic hero, made these character models? FUCK. YES. No wonder I love this series so. the animation and style is like mind candy, just like it was on Invader Zim. Still hope Mr. Solex gets back into animating his own hit series one day. Probably when it's our last day on Earth just to screw with us.evil grin

Finally got a chance to watch The Ninja Identity/The Ninja Supremacy, easily one of my favorite episodes in the series. And if Howard didn't butcher it, I wouldn't have remembered the opening was cut.

I really think the show deserves more airtime and love. It's the animation that really syncs the hardcore cheesy rock and ninjitsu acts together.

Even though the show relies on gross out humor(whether or it works depend on the episode) it easily one of favorite shows, especially when it doesn't itself seriously at times.
