All Purpose Super Robot Wars Fanfiction Thread

I'm still somewhere or other in the middle of the Macross Saga, so no.

Blame Dynasty Warriors Gundam and Jojos Bizarre Adventure for my slow progress.

Well I'll say that this may be a potentially interesting collaboration, though I may have to ask about any problems with the mainstream Macross franchise.

Part of the thing with using the Macross Saga is that I think the wars prior to the Macross' crash landing can be used as the same wars that happened in the wake of Second Impact. It's not something I'm hugely obsessed over including, though, so if it turns out to be more trouble than it's worth then I'm not against cutting it. Oh yeah, Gao Gai Gar is another one I'd really like to use, largely so I can have the Gutsy Geoid/Galaxy Guard and the Brave Express Team as organizational Bash Brothers, most notably ChoRyuJin and Tri-Bomber.

'Course, I haven't exactly finished watching Might Gaine either, so.....

That reminds me, 1) I really need to get some work done on that pilot/prologue for my fic, and 2) Midnight Crew apparently subbed the entirety of Brave Fighter of Legend Da Garn....

The SDF-1 showing up with Second Impact can work wonders with Pacific Rim.

I'll suggest other stuff later since I need to get some sleep now.

Dang it, I'll throw something out. The BB Senshi Gundams since L used them.

To answer the question, I read the first six chapters of the manga, and have seen the first four or five episodes of the anime. Then I saw Robotech and decided that it was a lot more interesting, and Macross Frontier dropped to a really low priority on my to-watch list.

BTW, does it make sense if the ED-209s from the new Robocop movie is treated as a real robot in a SRT fanfic?

Eh, I guess I could see it. I think Robocop is really more of what you'd see in a Super Tokusatsu Wars, though, instead of a Super Robot Wars.

Nah it's fine. The new ED-209s are badasses in the 2014 version, so they make good mecha mooks.

I know they are, I saw Robo 2014 in theaters. I was referring to the titular Robocop himself, however, and how - especially since his franchise was apparently inspired by Space Sheriff Gavan - I think it's more a proper "toku franchise" than a "mecha franchise".

Then again, I'm sure most people would say the same thing about Tekkaman Blade, Detonator Orgun, and Iczer, and they all made it into SRW, so basically, Sure, Why Not?

Since they are people willing to write together for a fanfic, should we have a group?

By posting within this thread together, aren't we implicitly a group to begin with?

I mean in terms of posting the story for reading, though I don't know if it can get there.

Not as much as marketing. I'd like to collaborate writing with someone again, as long as our interests don't clash.

I'm game with it, though I haven't seen it in a while.

Though the thing is I'm familiar with most real and super robot stuff, so it's hard for me to pinpoint which should I write in a collaboration.

Tekkaman Orgun and Iczer's are much more powerful than Robocop (and they can fly around in space) which is why they're able to go up against SRW type enemies.

Put Robocop up against a Zaku or something and he wouldn't do much damage, where as Blade or Orgun can tear right through it.

I didn't want to include Robo since he has no chance. I only considered the new ED-209s.

Robo might be able to maintain his badassery in the world of Metal Gear, though.... Well, at least as far as Sons of Liberty. Cyborg tech in Guns of the Patriots and Rising Revengeance is just ridiculously strong.
