Terrifying does not strictly mean reanimation, at least to my knowledge.

Hell, we might just get clouds that spontaneously gib dwarves to death.

Not nearly a good enough singer for the Choir Invisible, and the Basement Room With A Synth Invisible is much less prestigious.

Very much so.

True it is not always rezzing the dead. But we should try for a unique hazard that is seperate from our last fort.

Something like a volcanic area that has heavy goblin presence or other hostiles.

Well, the fortress sort of already exists (also linked in first post), so we have what we have.

Saltwater swamp alone is a hazard, but this one is Terrifying. Have fun!

Does it have doom weather?

Salt water swamp will be an interesting challenge.

I just embarked, did the starting dorfing, and posted, so I genuinely have no idea.

The only thing I do know is that somewhere below the ground there is an aquifer.

Because we all remember what happened to the last aquafier we found.

I really hope it has doom-weather. We can't have Fun without doom-weather.

Actually you can have plenty of fun without doom weather. The doom weather actually got pretty boring. Yeah I mean exposure to evil god fart fog mad eyou bleed out of your pores and orfices all at once until you died but that gets old.

But the whole nonchalance thing is good local flavour!

We can still have non-chalance for whatever our local threat is but having the doom fog again would be rather droll. We already know how to deal with it. Maybe we can get something like acid rain or clouds of dragon fire that sweep the swamp.

I guess as the starting player it's up to Tuefel to find out what lies in store for us.

It should get better when we start digging downwards to the lifeblood of the earth.

Just try not to set the water on fire this time, that could be problematic. I think some of those swamps are flammable.

Maybe we will actually burn some water this time...

Oh did I mention the four dwarves also rose up and began mauling the shit otu of the other dwarves? Every dead thing becomes your enemy.

"Every dead body that is not exterminated gets up and kills. Those that are killed get up and kill."

"Fire. Lots of fire. More fire than rotpar would deem overkill "

"More fire solves all problems, except possibly 'too much fire'." Combine the two and boom. No more zombies.

"Zombie Giant Tigers" If these appear and one becomes tamed, I want it! grin

[up] Dwarf life being what it is, it's more likely we'll end up facing flaming zombies.

Zombies take forever to burn to death because they don't bleed out. And when they do bite it, they shortly reanimate as lightly singed skeletons, which aren't any easier to put down.

If you have to burn undead, do it with magma. That destroys the bones.

[up] There are other things to burn stuff with? (joke. I know actual fire exists. I mean mainly 'In DF, who burns anything with anything other than magma?')

'There is no overkill. There is only 'Open fire' and 'I need to reload''

[up][up] True dat. Hadn't considered that...

But isn't it only temporary, until the fires go out? Somebody with a stronger machine can do it! evil grin

[up] This is Dwarf Fortress.

There is no force in all of existence that can make a fire go out, except water. Sometimes.
