Tropers must pay dues before being excepted into the inner circle

Not literally pay as in pay money, but any new troper has to post for a certain amount of time (probably weeks to months) before being accepted into the inner circle.

Until your dues are paid, you're invisible.

No, until your dues are paid and have taken a vow of secrecy, the inner circle is invisible.

Isn't that how you get into ANY inner circle.

I've been reading tropes pages for off-and-on two years, I've gone on a week-long TV Tropes Will Destroy Your Life reading binge, without stopping to sleep, I've reached media consumption critical mass to achieve a sort of meta Genre Savvy Life Imitating Fiction zen wizardry... and I am still nowhere near inside enough to be a true insider-troper.
