I like this idea.
Easy street has no parking signs.I like this idea lots.
I'm having to learn to pay the priceAs much as I love 2D animation...the plot sounds stupid.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.I think both the idea AND the way they will present it are original. Of course how *good* it will actually be will depend more on the actual story and acting.
Again, Dreamworks seems to be willing to experiment more these days than Pixar. Hope it pays off.
How does this plot sound stupid? The premise itself is something not yet tackled in an animated film.
So, are they still carrying this film or is it shelved again.
It's still on hold. Dreamworks had to react to the oh-so-horrific misfortune of not getting enough millions of dollars for their movies. :/ Hell, I know tons of people who would kill for the amount of money their movies DO make!
Sounds like the games industry at the moment.
Oh, they only got like........ $200 million for ONE WEEKEND for ONE MOVIE??? Oh boooo-hoooooo! Let me donate some soup kitchen meals to your doorstep!!!
Tell you what, you go and run an entertainment corporation and keep the books balanced. Let us know how that works out.
I can make a point without actually knowing how to do those things myself.
In this case, I don't know if you can.
Looking for some stories? That sounds really neat...it reminds me of the time when Dream Works started and made really ballsy movies like Prince of Egypt and Spirit. Original idea (in the sense that shadows which think for themselves are normally portrayed as creepy and dangerous) and the concept of mixed animation really speaks to me...especially since it makes sense that the show world is flat.
Dream Works really has to do something to distinguish itself from companies like Blue Sky and Co...this is the way to go.
Instead, we'll likely be Shrek 5 somewhere down the line.:/
Well, since Dreamworks is totally dependent on investors, they kind of do need big grossers with their movies.
Yeah.People ALWAYS forget its Show BUSINESS. They dont have the pockets Disney Pixar does.
So glad that this film is getting completed. Tom Hiddleston is playing a villain from what I hear.
Ah, Bill Hader.
... I don't see any dates on that page. When was it written? Is this old news?
It got moved to 2015. You can check latest pages on Google search. The oscars got info on it too.
"Musical. Featuring songs by Owl City."
-_- Face Palm. Because we CLEARLY haven't heard enough of his music in Hollywood movies yet!!!
Also, the latest news I found about this film do say it's scheduled for 2015, but they're all articles from early 2013. Animation schedules always have a chance to change.

You could just leave as the credits start.
"Featuring music by Owl City" doesn't tell me anything about where in the movie it plays. For all I know, it could just be a whole assortment of original Owl City songs throughout the film, like they did with Ben Folds for Over The Hedge. So we still don't know if it will be only the end credits.
Plus, IMDB list "musical" as one of its genres.
The dude that made the firefly song? Ugh. Unlike many, his songs make me feel more depressed than happy.

New Dreamworks film combining CG and hand-drawn animation coming November 2013.
Features Bill Hader, Kate Hudson and Josh Gad. CG will portray the real world, while the shadows and shadow realm are traditional. Nice use of medium blending.
