I don't even know who Jack White is.
Everything is Possible. But somethings are more Probable than others.1. From the 4 or 5 songs of theirs that I've heard, I really don't think Nickelback is bad at all. (First song I heard of theirs was "This Afternoon".)
2. I generally don't mind the trend in country music about male singers bragging about how country they are, since I honestly think some of them mean it.
3. I didn't think Rascal Flatts' output of their Dork Age (Still Feels Good and Unstoppable) was all bad. Sure, some of their songs sucked, but I did like "Winner at a Losing Game", "Here Comes Goodbye", "Why" and "Bob That Head". (I seem to be literally the only person who liked "Bob That Head".)
4. I find a lot of music from before the late 60s to be boring and dull. It's like they didn't discover the concept of "up-tempo" until the late 60s.
5. I think Billy Ray Cyrus is a reasonably talented singer. (Seriously, check out "Could've Been Me", "Words by Heart", "In the Heart of a Woman" or "Busy Man".)
6. I do not like "I Hope You Dance" by Lee Ann Womack. Her vocals sound cold and insincere; the production is too bombastic; and I can't identify with a single word of the lyrics. The only part I like at all is the counterpoint on the chorus.

The popularization of a genre inevitably means it must eventually be dumbed down for a progressively lower common denominator.
Only Death Is Real
Hipster. But your probably right.
Everything is Possible. But somethings are more Probable than others.I prefer "elitist" :V
Only Death Is RealDubstep can be cool if you give it a chance and don't form opinions on the whole genre based on one guy.

It's just a coincidence I'm posting right below you, honestly.
Brostep is garbage back to front.
Real dubstep is almost just as bad. Don't care if you were in it before Rusko douched it up, it's still bad.

Memento MoriClassic rock sucks.
Pink Floyd is one the dullest, most pretentious bands I have ever heard.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.Here we go...
- I think Nickelback is overly bashed. I don't love them, but I don't understand the seething hatred that everyone has for 'em.
- I can't really stand AC/DC.
- Def Leppard wrote too many songs about women.
- John Mayer sucks and thinks he's funnier than he is.
- I dislike "I Hope You Dance" because reality show contestants have been butchering it for years!
- Sort of related: there is no way in fucking hell that Phillip freaking Phillips deserved to win American Idol. Yeah, his audition was nice, but Joshua Ledet and Jessica Sanchez were much better. I have a conspiracy theory that once they've put enough people through, someone decides who's going to win beforehand and the judges play along with it. The judges were total yes men for Phillips.
- Kanye West is one of my favorite rappers. THERE, I SAID IT! Oh, the humanity!
Honestly, who cares about American Idol?
Beavis And Butthead helped shape my music taste a bit, which is why I hate U2, Bon Jovi or any similar bands like Coldplay.
Someone wake me from this nightmare, I've become my darkest fear...I love the fact that loving brostep and hating brostep are both unpopular opinions.
I think brostep is So Okay, It's Average. Is that an unpopular opinion?
Anyway...
- Fuck Teardrop, Group Four is Massive Attack's best song.
- Frank Zappa was a great composer and musician, and very quotable, but he wasn't that funny.
- Coldplay is okay. "The Scientist" and "Speed of Sound" are great songs.
- Styx is better without Dennis De Young.
- The Beatles did, indeed, write filler- just not nearly as much as other bands did, and at least it was all still enjoyable.
- Nevermind and Ten are simply very good albums. Not stellar.
- The Beatles were undeniably great musicians and helped shape modern mainstream music, but their music didn't age so well.
- AC/DC and Nirvana are way too overrated.
- Nu-metal is pretty damn good, when done right.
- As stated in previous posts... Nickelback isn't so bad. Maybe bland and unoriginal, but sounds fine to me.
- Dubstep breakdowns are the worst part of dubstep.
- Metalcore/Deathcore breakdowns are the worst part of Metalcore/Deathcore.
And is "brostep" an actual genre? I thought it was just slang...

No regret shall pass over the threshold!
According to Urban Dictionary
"Brostep is a relatively new sub-genre of music (born out of Dubstep micro-genre) which has no emphasis on soul.
The goal appears to be to produce music as fast as you possibly can, without placing any emphasis on quality.
Unlike Dubstep where sub bass is key, Brostep places more emphasis on ratty high frequency samples and oscillators that arent even low frequency.
Toss in a few hip hop vocal samples and you are well on your way to being the worlds next big Brostep producer."

Everything is Possible. But somethings are more Probable than others.x5 Depends on who you hang out with.
People wouldn't even know the genres are related if they didn't have the same name.
They're both horrible, but brostep has nothing to do with dubstep. Dubstep is deep, minimalist, atmospheric, and sub-bass heavy. Brostep is just mid-range wobble and distortion. The only people who make halfway tolerable stuff all came over from the dnb scene, naturally.
And since they've been mentioned a few times, and this is an unpopular opinions thread...
The Beatles suck, and they suck hard. Yes, I'm denying their greatness. Yes, they had an undeniable impact on pop culture. So did disco, and disco sucks, too.

Memento MoriConsider me in your camp. To my mind they're a bunch of bubblegum pop manufacturers who got rich off sexually frustrated teenage girls, blew their money on dope then wrote some songs about their hallucinations.
Well, that last paragraph describes most 60s rock but at least the Stones had the decency to hide it a little bit. Which is probably why I prefer them.
Also...Nickelback is not as terrible as everyone says, Amy Lee actually can sing, Adele is not fat, and Jimi Hendrix is massively overrated. Tony Iommi is better.

If I were to write some of the strange things that come under my eyes they would not be believed. ~Cora M. Strayer~"a bunch of bubblegum pop manufacturers"
You should read about their early days in Germany. Before they got kicked out of the country. For burning down a club. On purpose.
They were pretty damned hardcore for their day.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.Their music wasn't, though.
Memento Mori
Which Germany? It was the 60's.

Everything is Possible. But somethings are more Probable than others.I like disco music and I think most people are to hard on it. I won't deny it had some flaws, but the way people talk about it you'd think it was the most catastrophic thing to happen in the 1970's.
But I've been told I like every style of music so....

Everything is Possible. But somethings are more Probable than others. The Insane Clown Posse are one of the best Hip-Hop groups of all time in my opinion.
The smartest idiot you will ever meet.
Snowclone topic...
I think Jack White's version of "Poor Wayfaring Stranger" is utter shit, to the point where even I sing it better. He sings a folk song as if it was blues, with disastrous results. Tommy Emmanuel did the same mistake, BTW.
(My favorite version of all time is by Norma Waterson. Johnny Cash does a more bluesy version, but properly)
