It's better than the sugg... oh wait.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Clock is set.
Motion to pull
JAFAAC. Also, the picture is from Street Fighter 4, one of several games in which Dan is not a Joke Character but actually quite effective. "Strong guy wearing pink" is another trope, i.e. Real Men Wear Pink.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight! With those criteria in mind, I'll support the pull.
Keep Until Better Image Suggested, personally. He looks goofy enough to pass, like they're deliberately playing up his jokey-ness. Plus nobody said he couldn't be a LETHAL Joke Character...
Moon◊Actually, Lethal Joke Character is a different trope, and "fighting character who looks silly" is the trope Clown Fighter, not this one. As the description states, a character has to be weak to count for the Joke Character trope.

Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!It's not a different trope, it's a subtrope.
Moon◊Neither page says that LJC is a subtrope of JC. But that's beside the point, because Dan in Street Fighter IV is not a Lethal Joke Character either.
Granted, Dan is a LJC in certain other games. But the picture here is from SFIV, where he is simply a normal-powered fighter (if not a top tier one). So the picture is Not An Example of the trope (even aside from being JAFAAC, because nothing in the image suggests that he's a JC or LJC).
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!Click the little icon between Laconic and Analysis. It says they're related, right there.
(Yeah, I know I'm not addressing the main point... <_<)

Moon◊Knowing nothing about the game he's from, he looks like he's being made intentionally silly-looking by the artists. So it's not just a face and a caption. I can't remember our policy on "looks good, but not actually an example" but off the top of my head I don't think it matters.
Joke Character is the first thing that comes to mind when I hear his name or see him.
Check out my fanfiction!Well, our usual standard on "looks good but isn't actually an example" is to pull the picture.
and both: you're both thinking that this is an example of a character that looks like a joke. However, that is not this trope! The trope is intentionally weak character. A character that looks like a joke is the trope Fighting Clown, not this trope.
So the picture illustrates the trope name rather than the trope. That means this name is not as good as it should be, but that's a matter for TRS to decide. It nevertheless means that the picture doesn't illustrate the trope.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!Speaking of which, Fighting Clown also has a terrible image. The colors just make it hard to tell what it is.
I'm not thinking what you think I'm thinking. I'm not referring to how he looks. I'm referring to my overall perception of what kind of character he is.

Check out my fanfiction!I'd just like to point out that Dan from Street Fighter is both THE original Joke Character and THE original Lethal Joke Character, both from the same game.
People managed to become really good with using the worst character in Street Fighter Alpha, and both tropes were born from the same guy. For this reason alone, his image should NOT be pulled.... or at least I'm countering against Spark's initial motion.
Just because someone got good with a character doesn't make it any less of a Joke Character. Plenty of people in Melee could destroy most people with Pichu, but that doesn't mean it's not the worst character in the game.

Belief or disbelief rests with you.Clock's up; locking for inactivity/lack of consensus. No action is to be taken based on this thread.
I just see a big pink guy. You need to have played the series to understand it even remotely.
I suggest getting some SFIII sprites of Ryu, Ken and Akuma throwing their Hadokens and then with Dan with his dinky little Gadoken underneath it.
Evil is my favorite color.
