Possible idea: We start a thread in Yack Fest asking people for pictures of their cats or kittens; I know a number of tropers, e.g. Best Of
, have lovely photos. It could turn up an image as good as any other, and just for fun it'd be a troper's cat.

Btw, the critter's called Tarepanda, and was created by San-X, which is apparently a company dedicated solely to making cute things. We have no page for the panda or for the company.

The laconic says "an animal that has deliberately been made as cute as possible." Maybe we could juxtapose some pic of real-life ponies with a pic of MLP:FIM ponies?

The real life ponies seem unnecessary. I think most people know what those look like.
That said, the current image is fine. I see no reason to change.

Ridiculously Cute Critter is about those creatures that consist mostly of fur, big eyes, and a smile, and little else. I suppose a pile of Super-Deformed pandas would technically qualify, but the image doesn't really show off any cuteness, and looks more like a pile of rocks to me.
