Poor Image: Ridiculously Cute Critter get usage counts

1 Spark 9, Mon, 16th Jul '12 7:47:39 AM from Castle Wulfenbach Relationship Status: Too sexy for my shirt
Gentleman Troper!
Ridiculously Cute Critter is about those creatures that consist mostly of fur, big eyes, and a smile, and little else. I suppose a pile of Super-Deformed pandas would technically qualify, but the image doesn't really show off any cuteness, and looks more like a pile of rocks to me.

Some alternative suggestions, a kitten, pile of tribbles, Nibbler, or this guy.
Special trousers. Very heroic.

Current image is fine.

KITTY!!! *ahem* Sorry about that. The current is fine, though I'd like to know a source, but that lil' kitten is so adorabubble!

Possible idea: We start a thread in Yack Fest asking people for pictures of their cats or kittens; I know a number of tropers, e.g. Best Of, have lovely photos. It could turn up an image as good as any other, and just for fun it'd be a troper's cat.

Noooo, don't do that, I'd blackmail everyone into picking a picture of my cats! >.>

And why exactly is this a bad thing? tongue I was totally not trying to make an excuse for finding the cutest photos of my own cats.

Kittens are their own trope, let's find something else.

My only objection to the current pic is that it's (currently) unsourced.
serial tweaker, sorry
I like the current.

Btw, the critter's called Tarepanda, and was created by San-X, which is apparently a company dedicated solely to making cute things. We have no page for the panda or for the company.

The "Cheburashka" or whatevs is already on Cartoon Creature.

I made a (almost) stub page for Tarepanda, so it's sourced now.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.

[up] Thanks! *makes some tweaks*

With that, I have no problem at all with the current pic.
The laconic says "an animal that has deliberately been made as cute as possible." Maybe we could juxtapose some pic of real-life ponies with a pic of MLP:FIM ponies?
"[Mother Teresa] was not a friend of the poor. She was a friend of poverty." - Christopher Hitchens
The real life ponies seem unnecessary. I think most people know what those look like.

That said, the current image is fine. I see no reason to change.

The system doesn't know you right now, so no post button for you.
You need to Get Known to get one of those.
