[up]Not bad, but how about some interactions with Marvel characters- The Maggia, SHIELD, etc.- to round out his background? That is the whole point of this RP after all.

[up][up]No problem, I'll just change all references to the CIA to references to SHIELD and add in a reference or two to the Maggia, and I don't think I'll need to change much.

[up]Sure, I'll join you guys over there.

  • Name: Music Meister
  • Real Name: Billy Buddy
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: Around 25
  • Appearance: He looks a lot like the actor that voices him, except wearing his normal costume (except for the glasses).
  • Alignment: Villain
  • Personality: A music lover, the Music Meister can be described as your normal guy with villainous intentions that can sing pretty well. He's very theatrical, and uses his powers to make even the simplest of actions a very elaborate dance n' sing routine. But even if he's a villain, there's a heart under there, a heart that still beats and can every once in a while recognize a powerful voice and a beautiful face.
  • Powers and Abilities:
    • The Power of Music: The Music Meister's voice has the ability to not only be accompanied by an invisible band, but he can also hypnotise those to sing and dance to his tune and do whatever he wants them to do. His power doesn't work that much on the strong-willed, but it works excellently on those that have internal conflicts, forcing them to resolve these conflicts by song.
  • Weapons and Equipment:
    • Musical Cane: A cane he carries around. He can use it to syphon the power of his words to send masterful musical beams towards his enemies.
  • Origin: Bullies used to pick on me / Because I sang in choir / To drown my sorrows / A laundry visit is what I'd require / That is where I quickly found / The girl of my dreams / But she'd prefer the company / Of a dreadful baseball team! / So that is how my sad life / Got oh-so very dire / But something very strange ocurred / When I kept singing higher / The people all around me / Quickly fell into a trance / And it was then, with wicked glee / I made those puppets dance! / I rightly knew that was how / I'd get her to love me / But to my growing despair / She hated my jamboree / They asked for help / And from the school I soon was banned / So now the entire world / Must be under my command! / I'm the Music Meister! / And everyone just fawns / I'm the Music Meister! / And you will all be my pawns!

Without his glasses? Whuuut? C'mon, man, that's the only constant of his costumes! You'd be taking away his symbol, maaan!

Whatever, I'll just imagine him with them on, and you can't stop me. Accepted, and reserved until Klarion is no more.

It's been fun playing K-9 but I feel as though I have to take a break with him for right now. So can I use Blade for Dawn Over New York for awhile until I can figure out what to do with K-9?

  • Name: Blade

  • Real Name: Eric Brooks

  • Age: Nearly a hundred years old.

  • Powers/Abilities/Equipment: Blade carries a silver katana on his back as his main weapon. However, he's also lugging around a shotgun with 8 shots in it in case things get a little nasty. He doesn't carry any extra ammunition, nor is the shotgun ammo silver or garlic filled; it's just a regular shotgun. As a last resort, in one of his boots, there is a spring loaded wooden stake that can pop through his boot in case he gets too close to a vampire. He learned streetfighting as a child in the streets of Detroit and rented a self-defense instructional video so he is a competent fighter/martial artist. He is also a decent shot with his shotgun and most types of weapons. However his real skill lies with his silver katana which he wields with extreme passion. His powers include heightened senses, strength and speed. He also has an accelerated healing factor, though he still carries a Kevlar vest. Blade is also immune to vampire bites. He owns a motorcycle that he has taken with him to Jump City.

  • Backstory: The son of a loving mother and father, it seemed as though Eric Brooks would grow into a healthy and successful young man. Unfortunately, Eric's mother was attacked by a vampire while pregnant. This would mold Eric into a dhampir - half human and half vampire. Eric Brooks grew up in Detroit, hardened as a child. He soon realized that his unique heritage granted him all of a vampire's powers and none of their weaknesses. After dabbling in some petty crime, Blade soon learned the ways of the vampire hunter under the tutelage of Abraham Whistler - himself a vampire hunter. He has made it his life goal to kill Dracula once and for all and he's heard that the Vampire Lord has taken up residence in New York...
  • Appearance: Here.

So hey here's Bindle actually going through with something. I probably didn't have to put this much effort into the signup since most of it could be summed up as "Nobody fucking knows".

  • Name: The Phantom Stranger
  • Real Name: The Stranger's true name has long since been lost to the mists of time, if he ever had one to begin with.
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: Some say he was there to witness the birth of the universe, though to others that seems a simple fairy tale. Regardless, the Stranger isn't telling.
  • Appearance: No, that's not a mask.
  • Alignment: Good, for a certain value of the word.
  • Personality: The Phantom Stranger is as distant and mysterious as his name would imply. He rarely speaks to others, except to warn them of things to come. He feels he has an obligation towards humanity, to guide them in their darkest moments and shepherd them toward the light. Much to his chagrin, however, he cannot intercede in mortal affairs. To do so would rob them of their agency, of the ability to determine their own futures, and that is a crime that the Stranger cannot abide. He can only observe and inform, and it is a duty that he takes to with no small amount of relish. Past his staid, stone-faced demeanour, one could even say that the Stranger finds joy in the telling of tales. He's certainly rather long-winded for a spiritual entity, and it's harder to make him stop talking than it is to make him start. In spite of this, he's somewhat tight-lipped when it comes to key details, though he'll let slip a few important facts if you get him in the right mood.
  • Powers and Abilities: The Stranger is believed to be one of the most mystically powerful beings in the universe, capable of harnessing terrible magical energies that dwarf the achievements of mortal sorcerers. There is little that the Stranger cannot accomplish. However, he is far from perfect. Due to his vow of non-interference, much of this power goes unused, only unleashed in the most dire of circumstances. He is not invincible, either, and the Stranger may be injured or killed just as easily as any man. Though his stores of knowledge are vast and there is not much that escapes the Phantom Stranger's notice, he is not omniscient. He is, at his core, human, and therefore fallible. He knows this better than anybody.
  • Weapons and Equipment: The Stranger carries no weapons or trinkets save for the clothes on his back.
  • Origin: As with most things concerning the Stranger, his background is an enigma to even the most devoted occult scholars. Still, despite the void of knowledge, theories and wild notions abound. He could be an angel, or a god, or a wizard of such power that he has transcended the bonds of reality. Others believe him to be Judas, sent to wander the Earth for his crimes, or the Wandering Jew, or an alien, or some distant cousin of the ancient and mighty Eternals. The Stranger certainly isn't too keen on telling anybody. It could be that not even he, in all his supposed wisdom, knows of his own past.

By the way, Doc, my apologies for my absence in Intervals. I'll try and slot Vezon into the game as soon as I don't feel intimidated by the sheer amount of stuff going on.

Don't worry about it. At Intervals has been going a bit more slowly than usual this past week, since the fight the group is in is taking longer than we expected, and Kiri and Mal have both been really busy lately. Things should get less chaotic soon.

Anyway, as for the character, how about this?

  • Name: The Scarecrow
  • Real Name: Dr. Jonathon Crane
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: Early thirties
  • Appearance: Out of costume. In costume.
  • Alignment: Anti-Villain
  • Personality: On the surface, Dr. Crane paints an impression of poise and social posture. Well-mannered and well-learned, he's a regular yuppie, fitting in with the rest of New York's financial elite. Having climbing the social ladder for at least a decade, Dr. Crane now enjoys a well-earned life of comfortable wealth, brought about by a successful psychiatry practice, as well as a penchant for chemistry that he'll swear with a humble chuckle was just one of the ways he made sure to stand out from the crowd of burgeoning psychiatrists back at Gotham U. A socialite and well-respected medicine man of the mind. He is, however, housing a remarkable lack of sympathy for the city's criminal elements. Having never been poor or desperate enough to be driven to a life of crime (outside of a few incidences which also helped him get ahead in his career, but were never traced back to him), he sees the criminal underworld as a poison; a cancer that law enforcement and superheroes alike don't have the courage or strength of character to stamp out. The city is sick, and the cure is out there, but he's the only one willing to stab it with a syringe. That's why he donned his own personal cowl, and became the Scarecrow; to make the cancer of New York afraid to walk the streets again.
  • Powers and Abilities:
    • Master chemist: Despite pursuing a career in psychiatry, Crane's talent for chemistry is equivalent to that of a long-practicing doctor. He used this to create his original fear toxin while still in graduate school, and since then, he's only further perfected his skills.
    • Psychological tactics: As a long-practicing psychiatrist, Crane is extremely good at reading people, and while he cannot diagnose them at a glance (since that's impossible tongue), one of his most dangerous skills is the ability to extrapolate minute details from conversation or get under people's skin. Whether in or out of combat, he uses this to intimidate and demoralize his opponents, often with frightening effectiveness.
    • Violent dancing: Crane's own specialized form of martial arts. Partially self-taught, this combines crane style kung-fu and drunken boxing, while utilizing his gangly arms and legs to out-range most hand-to-hand fighters.
    • Highly athletic: While merely human, Crane is in excellent physical condition. It can be said that he is far quicker than the average man, and while his fighting style is mostly built around speed, he is also stronger and tougher than the average man, as well. For comparison, he's quicker than Batman, but not as strong or tough.
  • Weapons and Equipment:
    • His costume: As he is essentially taking on a similar role to Batman's own, the Scarecrow suit is now designed for more effective close-range combat. It isn't equipped with the same sorts of gadgets the batsuit is (though it could eventually be, if he were to ally himself with someone who had access to toys of that kind), but it's made of a cotton-kevlar weave and worn over a stab vest, making it highly stab-resistant. His mask also serves as a gas mask and is especially tear-resistant, allowing him to use his fear toxin without worrying about inhaling any of it himself. It's also equipped with hidden, wrist-mounted canisters of the fear toxin, as well as a belt where he stores a few weapons, such as a sickle, a taser, and a pair of stolen police nightsticks.
    • Scarecrow fear toxin: Through intense research in the science of fear, Crane developed a powerful hallucinogenic drug he dubbed "fear toxin". When inhaled, the victim hallucinates their own worst fears becoming a reality. Accute exposure also has the possibility of causing the victim to develop new phobias based on their hallucinations, though these are highly context-based and the toxin itself has no pattern for such developments. Through years of distilling and perfecting the formula, Crane is able to convert the toxin into several different forms for a wide variety of possible administrations, such as darts, liquid injection, or even pill form, as well as its usual state as a gas.
  • Origin: Jonathon learned from an early age, mostly through experience, that people who hurt others to get what they want are seldom punished for it; seldom brought to justice. An abusive childhood and an adolescence filled with humiliation laid the framework for that lesson, so when the time came for him to enter into a university, he was already sick of being used as a punching bag or stepping stool for those bolder than he was. Now a grown man, it became easier and easier for him to see that those with power or prestige seemed to get a leg up by stepping on someone weaker, and he knew exactly why: They knew they'd never be punished for it. They knew the world would give them a pat on the back instead of the punch to the gut they so deserved. They weren't afraid; so he'd make them afraid. Years later, after he'd climbed as high on the social ladder as he cared to climb, he was able to look back down at Gotham, then later New York, and see all the filth who were getting away with the same exact things. Even if it wasn't for prestige, whether it was a "petty" scumbag robbing a jewelry store, a druglord dealing in schoolyards, or a mass murderer, they weren't afraid. They walked the streets of New York in broad daylight, and even if one or two of them were caught by the police, or by the Batman, or by any of the other dime-a-dozen "heroes" who trawled for crooks, they couldn't fix Gotham. They couldn't cure New York. They were putting the city's foot in a cast when its whole leg was gangrenous. Anyone who called themselves a "hero" without irony would never be willing to do what needed to be done; that's why he was the best man for the job, and that's why he wears his cowl.
