Another Xyz user? This could be a good opportunity. He thought.

"Um, Sigmund right?" He asked a bit nervously. "This might sound sudden, but I have a request. Would you duel me? I have never faced an Xyz monster before. I have never even managed to get my own Xyz monster out on the field before." His previous expression of nervousness now turned into a rather determined one. "So I want you to show me. Show me the power of the Xyz."

Caramon looked intrigued.

"Really? You've fought them before? What were the circumstances? They're not the most well-known archetype out there..."

Denero passed by Art, glad that he didn’t seem in the mood for talking, as he looked around the room Denero noticed this might not have been the best place for a quiet sit down, with one duel in its opening turns and another posably about to start, still watching someone lose might be what the meteor needed at this point, he made his way to a seat to watch the alien player and the girls duel, not expecting much after seeing his performance in the three way yesterday.

Denero pulled out a notepad and pencil from his back pocket, inside was everything from what to do with his uncle’s business, to any and every deck idea for Jurracs Denero had ever worked on, finding a clean page he began to jot down concepts as the Meteor just growled at him from the back of his mind, looking up every now and again at the state of play.

"Not that but rather I've seen both your duels with Jacques so I know how powerful they are." He smirked "I would be happy to dance with you my friend, A hot desert with the hot spirits of two people embroiled in match with one another, 'tis a beautiful thing. So to answer your question, Yes I will happily duel you if the fates permit it."

Basically I'm saying that I'll duel you if nothing needs to be moved on and that I'll only be able to post rarely maybe once or twice a day...

Caramon shook his head.

"No thank you. I'd like to try and get some new ideas worked out for my deck. There are a couple of ways that I think I could make it better, but after I get that done I'd love to test my skills against yours."

"Um, I think he was answering my challenge." Daniel smiled at Caramon and then turned to Sigmund. "Thank you kindly for accepting my challenge, Sigmund. Shall we begin?" He held his arm out as his Duel Disk began to shift, and inserted his deck into his now ready disk.

"Let's do this!"

"Duel!"

Gretel stared at him, then shook her head aggressively. "My name is..."

She drew for the start of her turn.

"The girl who's going to beat you!"

More useful later on.

"I Set one monster face-down to join my two back-row cards, and end my turn."

Oh, please ask why she was playing defensively. Gretel needed a good venting around about now.

Sigmund took his duel disk out of his backpack(why he even had it on him during the tournament was a mystery), slid it on to his wrist added his deck and shuffled "Well danny-boy let this dance of ours begin!" He drew his starting hand "Do you want to take the honours or shall I? I warn you this deck of mine has been rather eclectic of late. In retrospect calling lady luck a "heartless bitch" was most definitely not one of my wiser moves!" He laughed "The legions of the damned and the minions of hell face off! Danny my dear lad, I think that this is the start of a beautiful friendship!"

D-D-Danny-boy?

Daniel was rather surprised at the nickname but still could not contain his smile. The excitement was building. Is this what it means to be in a dueling school?

"In that case, I'll warm'er up for ya!" Daniel drew his first draw and looked over his hand.

Hmm... I'll need to get rid of all of these.

"I'll set a single monster facedown. Followed by three more cards set in the Spell and Trap Zone! Let's see if you have what it takes to break through!"

Marcus grinned like a small child.

"I play one card face down and attack you with Alien Hypno!"

The froglike creature leapt forward, talons outstretched.

Monsters: Alien Hypno (1600 atk)

S/T: 3 facedown, "A" Cell Breeding device

Life: 8000

Gretel almost lazily lifted her hand, and the face-down card hologram turned faceup to reveal the same shield-hefting soldier who'd done most of the grunt work in her last duel.

Gagaga Gardna — 2000 DEF

"Too weak, Marcus. Unless you have a card to play during the Damage Step?"

"Very well then, my move!" Sigmund humphed he could work with this "I'll set three cards in my spell trap zone and set one monster face down." He smirked "I have no intention of breaking your lines YET not while you have such a strong line and I have nothing to stop it due to not being able to activate set spell and traps this turn. Your move Danny-Boy."

"Nope!" Marcus said cheerfully, as Alien Hypno smacked into Gardna's shield. "Your turn!"

Life points: 8000-> 7600

Come on! Something I can use! Daniel hoped with all his heart as he placed his hand to the top of his deck and drew. He looked at his card. It was useless at the moment.

Great. Time to improvise.

"I Normal Summon Infernity Archfiend from my hand to the field!" On cue, a purple entity came out of Daniel's Duel Disk wearing purple robes along with orange hair. (1800/1200)

"Objections?"

"Let's start this off simply; during your End Phase, I blast your little cloning factory away with Mystical Space Typhoon!", Gretel cut in, flipping over the holographic card and sending a stormy pillar to smash apart the Breeding Device.

"You might remember this card from my last duel," Gretel commented with the corner of her mouth turned upwards. "Gagagabolt! I pick one card on the field and blow it up, and I pick your face-down."

"But, that's not a guarantee; just a good approximation of it. So, I play another Gagagabolt, to leave you with only one backrow card to beat me with!"

The emblem at the centre of the man's shield glowed twice as brightly for a brief instant; then twin lances of pure power scorched outwards and blasted two Set cards on Marcus' fieldside away.

#1 and #3, please. Sorry, I got it into my head that Breeding Device was one of your three cards. >.<

Marcus shrugged.

"Cool, thanks." he said, as Cell Explosion Virus and Planet Pollutant Virus were both blasted off the field.

Gretel's eyes narrowed, somewhat worried about this kid's mental state. If I beat the crap out of him and it turns out he really has a problem, I'll look like the bad guy here...

The question was, should she lower her skill level on a wild guess?

"I normal summon my Silver Sentinel to the field, just like in my last game. But—"

And here Gretel paused for effect, waiting until the soldier had crouched low with his rifle in his hands to continue.

"Unlike last time, he's not going to help me summon a monster to shatter your defenses." She raised her open hand above her head, and the twin soldiers on her field began to shimmer in copper shades. "I only need a monster with superior power right now! I construct the Overlay Network!"

Aliens play Synchro monsters... Well, let's see how they deal with this monster!

The two flickering bodies formed a spiral in the air, and then crashed down into a glowing portal, from which erupted a purple-tinged pillar of fire.

"Twisted husks, infested with the dark virus of hate! Crush the lords of monsters with your taint! Xyz Summon!" The pillar faded, leaving behind a humanoid, insect-like, armoured... thing. A long, harsh-looking spined whip was clasped in its hands, and two antennae twitched as they wavered in the air.

"Come on; Steelswarm Roach!"

"I have no objections please continue." Sigmund said with a smirk. He now knew exactly what he was playing.

Marcus just sat there smiling.

Hmm. He didn't take the bluff, not sure if that's good or bad. Not only that... He looked at Sigmund, his smile radiating confidence. But he has something up his sleeve. Still, I can't back down now.

"I activate the facedown on my far left, the Spell Card One for One!" The card flipped, showing a picture of a flower coming out of a red beast. "By discarding a Monster from my hand to the Graveyard, I can Special Summon a single Level 1 Monster from my deck."

A shadow appeared of a tall armored figure that was known as Infernity General. The shadow, however, soon faded, and a much smaller, gun-wielding monster took his place.

"Let's go, Infernity Avenger!" (0/0)

"Now I play the facedown on my far right, Monster Reborn! This allows me to bring back my Infernity General!"

Out of the ground, the earlier dark figure appeared, this time sporting a sharp, curved blade. (2700/1500)

Denero glanced up at Sigmun’s duel.

One for one? Now that might be interesting

He scribbled a bit more in the note book, the once clean page was now covered in writing, some in Italian some in English, this time noting down about how one for one might work with Jurrac Aelo.

What do you think? It means we can make our power plays earlier

Still no response, just the dull static sound that let him know the meteor was still there, he hoped someone lost soon, seeing someone lose tended to cheer it up.

"Now, Steelswarm Roach! Attack Alien Hypno, with Viral Scourge!"

The insectoid creature clicked and tilted its head too fast for a human, then arched and twisted its hand so that the whip spun once and went spiked-tip-first at Hypno.

"Hey, I just had an idea!" Marcus said suddenly. "Have you ever heard of this game called Duel Monsters? I only started playing a few weeks ago, but if you want I could give you a game after we're done here!"

Gretel showed only a violent spasm of the hand in response, clenching it as though she was imagining throttling this idiot.

"Last chance, Marcus! Shape up, or ship out!"

The barbed whip-point spun at the bizarre Alien...
