Who will make The Next Mascot Fighter?

So I found out this is apparently just the beta roster, so we'll definitely be seeing more characters than these!

The rumor is the game's Free to play, so new characters will show up continuously.

And as Space Jam 2 showed us WB is absolutely in the mood for whoring out capitalizing on its vast IP library right now.

Good! That better mean they're willing to do deep cut fighters.

I'm hardly enthused by the concept of WB's "Shit We Own Fighter", though like a classical cartoon fighter would be cool.

Yeck, just imagine if Disney gets involved and we have Homer Simpson fighting Darth Vader and the Hulk?

Now, a mascot fighter of pure Disney princesses would be awesome. Belle smacking Ariel with a book, Cinderella getting mauled by Jasmine's tiger...Elsa is very quickly banned by everyone everywhere because every time she's selected it plays the entire "Let It Go" sequence.

And then they'd ruin it by basing it off the lazy live-action remakes.

I can't say I'm all that excited about the idea of a WB Platform Fighter.

Other than MK characters, I can't think of any CN characters I was incredibly attached to over the years.

To be honest, I'm much more invested in how they will handle their F2P gimmick. I thought this was a pretty legit way to get into fighting games after KI & DOA 5 but it's been so long that I can't remember how well it was actually handled. I can't help but be amused by the idea that WB would charge $20 for Rick & Batman. Especially if they would be deliberately designed to be broken.

I'm actually pretty excited for Multiversus, since I was a Cartoon Network kid growing up and Nickelodeon All-Stars did very little for me. I'd love to see Courage and Buttercup fighting Gandalf and Neo. And as long as we're barbecuing sacred cows, fuck it, throw Rick and Ilsa in there. And make them Deliberately Monochrome!

You know what I'd like, though? You know what I'd really like? If Disney, Warner Bros. et al teamed up for a hand-drawn classic cartoons platform fighter. Put Studio MDHR on the job. At the start of each fight, the background is painted in before our eyes, Duck Amuck style.

Another leak for Multiversus, this time of some stages and the general layout.

Also, a potential further roster leak. It includes Ben 10 and some codes for unrevealed characters.

The codes are Max, Fre, Joh, Sco, and Sub. My guesses are: Max from Ben 10, Fred Flintstone of the Flintstones, one of the three protagonists named Johnny (Bravo, Quest, or Test), Scorpion or Scooby-Doo, and Sub-Zero.

Actually, judging by previous leaks, MAX is likely Mad Max, and Johnny is likely Bravo.

NASB thought it was the most leaked game of its genre. Jokes on them cause Multiversus beat them and isn't even announced. I do wonder if Sco could be Scooby instead of Scorpion but we won't know until we see the whole thing in action

I do wonder, does WB own any non-licensed game franchise that isn't Mortal Kombat?

Warner owns Scribblenauts and I think First Encounter Assault Recon.

Looking at their page, they also own Dying Light and Lollipop Chainsaw. Guess that means Juliet Starling is also a possibility.

So one thing I gotta ask is what the heck is that green thing?? Nobody seems to know but if I had to guess maybe its an Early-Bird Cameo of a character from an upcoming WB original animated film like Storks and Smallfoot?

...neither of those films are upcoming. Storks released five years ago.

So, I recently found out about Smack Studio, an Indie Platform Fighter with a highly robust and easy-to-use character creation and animation system that utilizes "3D pixel art rotation technology". I wonder how well it will hold up against the likes of Rivals of Aether's Steam Workshop and Fraymakers' FrayTools.
