If Disney is really clever, they could try to market the film to the Anime-loving audience (in fact, I think that was the whole point of choosing this property over any other of Marvel's to animate.) Maybe that's why we haven't seen any full character artwork yet- they made them more manga-ish looking -and may still be working it out- and are saving it for when the Con Season starts?
I only said Maleficent because I know they're expecting that one to be big. We'll probably get something with Planes 2 as well.
Looking for some stories?I doubt they will. They must realize that anime is popular, but it's still a niche market and it's not profitable enough of a risk to take.
Hopefully an apology for making Planes 2

I was watching The Lego Movie when I saw an ad for Planes 2....
I facepalmed and wondered why the hell Disney can milk this franchise any longer.
Sssssh. You'll summon Boats.
i. hear. a. sound. They have planes and automobiles; all they need now is trains and they'll have a complete set.

PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyToo many syllables. It'd be called "Bikes".
i. hear. a. sound.Maybe Disney'll do a Thomas the Tank Engine adaptation.
Why are you all even thinking about this?? You're jinxing it!
That probably factored into it, though I remember the big thing they said was they chose to do Big Hero 6 because the team is so incredibly obscure. That means they can do what they want without comic book fans (who are notoriously nitpicky) screaming and crying foul on the internet, because NO ONE really knows much about the team.
Yeah I think they learned from Mort- they couldn't get the rights to the book unless they could afford the rights to adapt the entire chronicles of Discworld, so this time, they're going with an obscure property that, if unsuccessful, can exist on its own in a single film. No risk, no added accessories needed.
I think their incorporation of bigger "anime eyes" for their main characters is enough of a wink toward anime fans.
I'm fully expecting them to take a few cues from Miyazaki, especially if there's a scene like this. IMDB also lists dedications to Osamu Tezuka and Shotaro Ishinomori, so we may see some of their influence at work too.
Looking for some stories?... oh. ... yeah Miyazaki would make sense, since he had a real professional collaboration with Disney when releasing his films here. And judging from the character silhouettes, there will be a heavy Super Sentai influence too. I'm just sad that we most likely won't be seeing any styles like shonen TV anime.

So, do you think they'll stick with the original characters and leave Silver Samurai and Sunfire out of it then, since they both have loose ties to the X Men franchise?
One Strip! One Strip! They'll have to. Fox already used the Silver Samurai, and Sunfire's a mutant. Disney/Marvel can't use mutants in their films, with a few exceptions.
This isn't really about Big Hero 6, but Disney already confirmed the short that will play with it.
Sounds cute.
I've been wondering when they'll announce more of the cast. Any speculations? As to who they've gotten, I mean.
Looking for some stories?I bet they get someone from the current cast of the MCU. Also, a default Stan Lee cameo.
Speaking of casting announcements, someone found this today. No official word from Disney on the matter, though.
Looking for some stories?Didn't they establish that there wouldn't be a Stan Lee cameo?
I'm betting she'll be either Gogo, Honey, or a female antagonist.
EDIT: Oh shoot, sorry everyone, I was thinking of X-Men: Days of Future Past when I said Stan Lee wouldn't make a cameo. My bad.

She might be Hiro's voice.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatIMDB lists her as Gogo.
Looking for some stories?
Hmm.
A side of me is betting that there's a better chance that a BH 6 teaser would probably be attached to Guardians of the Galaxy than Maleficent.
