I want to make a Wild West RP, and I'm trying to formulate a story arc set in the fictional territory of West Tacoma. However, I need to know if people will actually join this RP.

Guys, let me know what you think.

I take it this is a straight Wild West, not a Weird West or Cattle Punk campaign?

[up]Actually, it may have fantasy and steampunk/cattlepunk elements.

[up]That's good. Fantasy with Medieval technology levels is kind of worn out, how about 19th-Century technology instead?

Yeah, this interests me as well. Nice to see something different. I might join too, especially if there's magic using gunslingers abound!

Some people say I'm lazy. It's hard to disagree.

I'd be up for it as long as the fantasy element doesn't overtake the wild west element.

I'm pretty sure the concept of Law having limits was a translation error. -Wanderlustwarrior

[up]The Wild West element is still the main element, but there will be magic and fantasy races, as well as character classes drawing from both Western and Fantasy archetypes.

Well I admit my hesitation because usually it just turns into "throw whatever the fuck you want into this setting where people occasionally wear ten-gallon hats." I don't mind magic and fantasy, but it's when I'm basically playing a medieval setting with better clothes and revolvers that I begin to become worried.

Just a suggestion? You might wanna veer more toward the "Cattlepunk" and less toward the "Weird West" angle. By which I mean, don't make it fantasy with Wild West trappings. That can get sort of crazy, and the flavor of the setting is totally lost 'cause people are totally breaking from it.

Also; might wanna make sure nobody gets too "Anime." You do that, and suddenly it's Eastern instead of Western, and the tone is just all over the place.

Yeah we tried doing this before, and it did indeed turn into that. May have helped that I was playing a character who was literally a John Woo fanboy/wannabe.

For the sake of this being a Wild West RP I will pretend I'm experienced and say sign me up.

Sometimes I think everything I draw is just a combination of all of the millions of drawings I’ve seen.
