Rio 2? Really? Really?
Is it just me, or has Blue Sky become the kind of studio that Dreamworks Animation used to be?
Looking for some stories? That's the way to stay afloat. Make sequels. Because you have to stay competitive.
I feel Blue Sky has 2 modes, Ice Age and Not Ice Age. Luckily with this year, they are changing it up until I saw Rio 2.
And I thought Cars 2 and Smurfs 2 pissed me off...I think they're only making it because the World Cup next year and the Olympics in 2016.
Well, Blue Sky has this, Rio and...Ice Age 1 as part of their good films resume.

To me, Ice Age is still their best film. They never surpassed it since, and I'm still waiting to see them do it!
You'll be old then.
my drawing blog ya'll UPDATES 10 TIMES A MONTH WOW, THIS IS STRAIGHT UP MUH SOGGY KNEEWell then they had a nice line-up while it lasted.
Maybe the Peanuts movie will be good?
Oh god...
Oh God, you said it. DON'T TEMPT FATE!!!!
Need something to counteract...umm, Turbo will suck?
Robots is a huge guilty pleasure of mine. Yes it's cliched as fuck and the main character and love interest are as engaging as sandpaper, but there are enough funny moments and engaging side characters to make it an enjoyable flick to me. That and it's so darn pretty to look at.
I'm having to learn to pay the priceYeah, Robots is pretty good.
But it won't suck as bad as this Peanuts movie - meh, Peanuts is one-dimensional & mean-spirited BS anyway (if only just IMHO...)!
Even if I had different face, I AM STILL DISGRACED.Saw this a few days ago. I agree that it's a very pretty film, and the action scenes were a lot of fun to watch, and I liked Nim Galuu...but I was completely unimpressed by the rest of the film. Felt like I've seen it all before in other movies. I saw every single plot development coming before it happened. None of the characters really struck me as very original or interesting. Also, MK's dad looked a lot like Conan O Brien. Maybe it's the hair.
Weird in a Can (updated M-F)The dad was actually designed to look like he came from a Norman Rockwell drawing, but I see your point.
Let's face it. The only reason Blue Sky is still active today is because Hollywood animated movies are now about effects, not story.

You can also add Sony and Illumation as well.

If you don't count the Open Season sequels or their effects work on Smurfs, Sony's output is actually pretty decent.

Cloudy has been the only thing Sony has put anything memorable.
I found Surfs Up pretty darn good.
And I wasn't expecting anything positive from that movie (coming out around the same time as March Of The Penguins and Happy Feet). I was surprised to find out that the director was the same guy who did Tarzan so yeah.

I literally forgot about that movie, I like that movie if only because Jeff Bridges and James Woods being animal versions of Jeff Bridges and James Woods.

"All of you remain where you are for a moment, I'm going to punch through a wall"
Yep.
Lowest opening for Blue Sky and lowest second weekend fall for Blue Sky. And any William Joyce film.
Yep.
Yep.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna kill people.
Well if this is enough for Rio to get a sequel...
