This isn't about the tear jerker moments in games as we have a page for that but have you ever cried over game? I remember when I was younger when I use to play game a lot and there was this one level that irritated me and I balled into tears when I couldn't progress any forward. I always felt bad about not beating that level but I was also ashamed of myself for not being able to it because it was too hard. It may sound silly but I had sen it happen to myself and other people around me, I cried over a game but it mostly because I couldn't beat the level. Has anyone else cried over a game?

Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door. Bobbery's story. And then when he reads Scarlettes letter. Pretty much the closest I've ever come to crying in a game. The said music box like music doesn't help.

Anyone who played videogames regularly as a kid is straight up lying if they say they have never cried over one. I used to cry a lot on the 90s platformers like Earthworm Jim and Vector Man especially, out of pure frustration.

Also that one time either a friend or family member beat you when you know they shouldn't have been able to and they(or someone else) either intentionally or unintentionally rubs it in. Worst taste of defeat you can get.

I cried at the ending to Final Fantasy X. I guess it was just kind of a really bittersweet ending.

I've cried over frustration, sadness, crowning moments of heartwarming. I think it's really good when a game makes you cry for the two latter reasons, less so for the former.

I always cry like a bitch when I beat a video game. It's the damnedest thing. Credits roll and... BAM! "OH GOD MY EYES ARE LEAKING, WHERE IS MY KLEENEX? HAND ME MY CHOCOLATE! DOG, COME COMFORT MEEEEE!!" Even when there's nothing that should spark the flood of tears. Apparently finishing things means a lot to me? [lol]

What part of the ending to Majora's Mask did you cry at (Just curious)? I don't remember anything particularly tear jerking in that ending.

I cry for happiness so seeing all the little people get their shit in order made me cry. As did Skull Kid reuniting with the fairies and finally understanding the situation with the giants.

[up]x3 Same. If I truly enjoy a game, or a book for that matter, finishing it messes me up. I don't know why.

Instead, I have learned a horrible truth of existence...some stories have no meaning.

Yeah with Colors it was because I finally realized that I had just had some solid fun. I wasn't making fun of Sonic or bitching about the gameplay and plot. It was just simple and enjoyable and the end boss was just so bloody perfect.

AND IT MADE ME CRY BECAUSE I WAS LIKE "OMG SEGA YOU DON'T TOTALLY SUCK".

I have squeezed out some tears of frustration over a game, but I can't recall what that game(s) was at the moment.

As for tears due to plot, Corpse Party made me cry at the end, and I found myself tearing up a bit when I was playing Super Mario Galaxy. Dat Music.

To elaborate, I find parting with the characters and setting incredibly sad. Rather pathetic I know, but meh. It doesn't occur often, it depends on the work I'm reading or playing.

[up] I have a nasty habit of not actually beating games just so they remain in a quantum state of continuous adventure so I don't have to say goodbye.

This is why I love sequels so much.

As for crying... No, don't think so. Gotten close though.

Not really cried, but I still felt pretty sad after the prologue in Kingdom Hearts 2, when you gain control of Sora. Oddly enough, not from any of the cutscenes, but rather entering the train station and letting it all sink in.

I cried when the Deku tree died when I played Ocarina for the first time. Not loud bawling... but there were tears leaking past. I think I swore to avenge him... not entirely sure... I may have been too freaked out by the spider.

Tiny leetle baby Tacitus shed tears of helpless frustration at the Jurassic Park top-down/FPS game for the SNES. No save points, no idea what I'm doing, no hope of victory. Not sure why it took me so long to find better things to do.

Oh, and the Link To The Past credits music. Partly because it's a beautiful song, and partially from the sense of accomplishment. Sure, Mario is fun to beat for the nth time, but Zelda was a game where you really felt like a hero at the end of it, like you'd faced down the darkness and saved the world. Not much has affected me that way since - I might've felt some prickles at the good end of Bioshock, but it wasn't the same.
