It's a bokken. Something completely different. Also, I'm pretty sure he mentioned that he was biased towards obscure Nickelodeon chracters. Then again, if Nick actually was making a fighting game, it'd probably be at least half made up of Spongebob characters, if not flat out a Spongebob fighting game.

[up]I'm okay with obscure characters, I just wasn't okay with Kimi. Or Dora. Or Sheen...

@ maxwellelvis Thanks for saying that. I don't know why people feel so entitled when it comes to a project like this that I started for fun, but I think I told Mr. Magcargo several times that at the end of the day, my drawings, so my picks. He's perfectly free to go on his DA account and draw who he thinks his ideal roster should be.

@ Magcargo Man Oh, boy. I'd hate to think that you were being two-faced, being very pleasant and cheerful on my DA account (but only after I had a little talk with you), but dismissing some of my choices here on another website where you think I can't see it as 'stupid'. Also, I'm glad the guy before you said it before I did, it actually is a bokken, which is something children in Japan use as a training tool for learning Kendo, which is something I'm sure Kimi would take up if she's obsessed over Japanese culture. Why would I give a kid a sword?

Yeah, dude, thanks for the promo, but don't talk about me behind my back. It's not cool.

@ Sorastitch, Dragon Geyser and noah1 The reason I made those oddball choices were to make the roster a bit more exciting and interesting. It's why there's so much hype behind fighting games sometimes, they occasionally toss in the odd character that makes fans go 'WHOA! Didn't see that coming!' so they don't know what to expect. The surprise factor is what makes a roster a very exciting experience sometimes, and if people put in character's you'd expect all of the time...that'd be boring, since you already know who's coming.

I also try not to make my rosters like something out of a MUGEN game. People would want to cram a billion characters in there at once, and I've always hated that. Always felt like a clusterfuck to me. That's why you don't see Aang or Katara there, people would complain that, "Korra and Aang play the same!" and Katara's basically passed the main waterbender torch to Korra. She's just a waterbender, but Korra is that and three more elements. Also, to adress Magcargo Man, Nick actually -has- released a fighting game with Avatar characters that doesn't feature Aang. It's called Super Brawl 3.

@ Magcargo Man For somebody who's quoting me (and in one instance, putting words right into my mouth), you sure don't read between the lines very well. I never said that Rango being green was the '-only- reason I made him an X-Box 360 exclusive'. Did you notice that he's a western character on a western console? I thought you'd catch on.

Also, about the whole 'I choose characters more on the WTH factor rather than how they play' thing, just because I don't say how certain characters fight doesn't mean I don't have an idea how. At this point in time, it's largely irrelevant, because what people care about is the artwork and what their interactions are with everyone else. If I feel inclined to, I'd describe -very- briefly how characters fight.

I'd also like to kindly remind you that even though you came on here and harped on my bias towards having Kimi and some obscure characters you didn't care for on the roster, you also repeatedly harped on about Catdog over on DA (to the point of quarreling with Coonfoot about how it was unfair of him to garner support for Zuko in said poll), and he's on the same boat. I didn't even want him on the roster, but I still drew him after that vote. I'm beginning to wonder if, after seeing what you had to say here, if that was a mistake.

It's bad enough that I have to take nonsense on this site alone...

Now I mainly replied to this on DA, Ryan, but let me point out several problems with this Flame Bait that restarted:

Oh, boy. I'd hate to think that you were being two-faced, being very pleasant and cheerful on my DA account (but only after I had a little talk with you)

WRONG!

Read the dates of the posts. This was BEFORE the argument and before I apologised and tried to patch things up. So NO, not two-faced. Read the dates next time.

For somebody who's quoting me (and in one instance, putting words right into my mouth), you sure don't read between the lines very well. I never said that Rango being green was the '-only- reason I made him an X-Box 360 exclusive'. Did you notice that he's a western character on a western console? I thought you'd catch on.

You actually said so here. "Rango is green, and so is the X-Box logo!". Sure, it might not have been the only reason, but it WAS THE ONLY REASON YOU ACTUALLY SAID TO ANYONE. I'm sorry I'm not psychic and can't read the subtle reasons behind your choice.

I'd also like to kindly remind you that even though you came on here and harped on my bias towards having Kimi and some obscure characters you didn't care for on the roster, you also repeatedly harped on about Catdog over on DA

I was looking at the project as an actual game idea rather than an art project. I never "harped on" about obscure characters. I said not to over-rep cult classics. I WAS LOOKING AT AN OBJECTIVE STANDPOINT. Likewise, about Cat Dog, it wasn't because I liked them, but because from an OBJECTIVE standpoint, they rep a show that hasn't been repped, and would have a unique fighting style, so it would be another good addition for those reasons.

And even if it is a bokken, I really, really, really don't Kimi as a fighter, and I think your taking that one too personally because she's your favourite Nicktoon.

About Rango: Yup, that's the only reason I gave to anybody. Sorry if I can't joke around a bit and invoke some people's sense of Fridge Brilliance, maybe I should blatantly say what my reasoning is for everything I do so that there's no mystery behind it that makes people feel good when they figure it out for themselves.

About the Dates: I'm seeing some posts from you as late as June here. I'm actually a little more miffed that you'd say these things about me on this site where you won't think I'd see it. (By the way, I've actually been a member here for a long time now, I just don't make a big deal out of it.) But fine, whatever.

[up][up]Look, you don't agree with his choices. That's fine, everybody's got an opinion. Just realize that he's doing this for free, on his own time, for no reason other than to share these ideas with people who have like-minded interests. You are getting entirely too worked up about hypothetical character selection of a video game that doesn't even exist. Going to this much trouble to prove how his ideas are wrong doesn't paint you in a flattering light.

Me thinking: Rango is on Xbox because he's a western character? Aren't they all American, and therefore western, char... Oh. OH! NOW I GET IT! You mean Western as in cowboy! That's clever!

I looked at the Plankton one, and I like the idea of him controlling another Spongebob character to fight for him.

[up]Yeah, I loved the Plankton one. It's way more cooler than controlling a generic robot, and I thought that giving him the mallet from Globs of Doom was a touch of genius, because it gives him a unique fighting style instead of being another big punchy dude.

Plus, the pose looked too darn cool to not favourite it. It's probably one of my favourite artworks in his whole project, next to Mr Smith and the Robo Reptar costume.

[up][up]I bet if I said that about someone I'd get thumped. I was never mean to you, so why are you being nasty to me?

You're welcome. I try to fight entitlement when I can.

As always, TV Tropes proves nobody can have opinions and that The Complainer Is Always Wrong.

Also, to adress Magcargo Man, Nick actually -has- released a fighting game with Avatar characters that doesn't feature Aang. It's called Super Brawl 3.

And that's a crappy internet flash game rather than an actual official retail game so it doesn't count.

Just realize that he's doing this for free, on his own time, for no reason other than to share these ideas with people who have like-minded interests. You are getting entirely too worked up about hypothetical character selection of a video game that doesn't even exist.

When I suggest an idea on the General Mario thread, and people object, that's always consider okay and nobody point out how those ideas are just stuff I made in my own time. Double Standard, much?
