I dunno. Either would be great. I know for sure that Todd Haberkorn is voicing Hanamura, which will be great if the "Avril Lavigne" line is kept.

Patrick Seitz is supposed to be Nidai, IIRC. I have a feeling he'll do an excellent job, given how hammy Nidai is.

I just launched a page for the upcoming spinoff game, Absolute Despair Girls. Still bare bones, but it'll improve in the next few days. I'm conflicted on the description, in that it technically spoils how one of the first game's characters survives, but every single description and advertisement of the game openly states that fact (and freely discusses playing as that character's alter ego, itself a plot twist), so it's hard to say whether it's meant to be kept a secret.

Well, KOMAEDA CONFIRMED. The weird thing is they don't use his name in the article. They just refer to him as "Servant" all the time.

Yes, he is. And now that I actually read the article, I need to correct my previous statement. Komaeda is indeed namedropped, but he is namedropped in the sentence "[...] two characters known as "Servats" who have the same appearance as Nagito Komaeda from 2 [...]".

Of course, as it was translated by me, it might not be perfectly accurate. Specially because I would be really confused if what I am saying is correct.

This post has bigger scans and also another two pages of DRAE stuff apparently.

The two new characters are apparently Asahina Yuuto and Hiroko Hagakure, but more importantly, what the hell re: Syo's barber shop that apparently can give Monobears haircuts like the dead characters. Syo why would you do that. If Monobear tries to emulate the dead characters I probably won't even have the capacity for despair because I'd be too busy saying wtf.

The Komaeda-servant thing is pretty strange since he'd be alive around the time of DRAE so there's no reason not to make it him if there's someone with his appearance. If there really are two of them, possibly the SHSL Imposter will also be around? And perhaps the other Despairs as well. Or maybe I'm just clinging too hard to the idea that we'll get to see all of the Despairs in this game like what I originally wanted.

Something just occurred to me.

Chapter 5 case. They narrow it down to Makoto and Kyoko, because they were the only two that weren't around during Monokuma's disassembly. But wasn't it established that the bomb used on Mukoro was the one they took out of Monokuma?

Kyoko had no idea about that, and Makoto only found out about it after rejoining the group. He was never alone until the detonation of the corpse, so wouldn't that have eliminated all the suspects? (unless they decide it's a case like Celeste's, but since there's only one victim there isn't a chance of a double blackened).

Although, I suppose there's no way to prove whether Kyoko knew about it or not, it was (incorrectly) proven that she couldn't have hidden the assumed murder weapon, and Makoto had no chance to rig the body, so technically, that eliminates everybody.

Given how long it took for someone to notice this, I guess it shouldn't be surprising that nobody in game noticed that detail.

Yep. Press copies have been out for awhile but are embargo'd from revealing more than the first Chapter.

And that is definitely Johnny Yong Bosch as Hinata. I recognized him from one voice clip.

Arvil Levinge is a gag that was made memetic in the fanbase.

Bosch is known for providing many a voice in anime and video games...and for being a Power Ranger back in the day.

Edit: Tears full of despair were had after the second trial. (Also, I dunno if I dislike Nagito more or thatonebullyofadancer)

I got the game, but can only go through it slowly unlike last time, when I basically played it straight through for the weekend. I decided to just go with Japanese voices this time.

I've only done the prologue so far, but they're calling Monomi's theme "Mr. Monokuma's Practice Lesson" for some reason... though on that note, it's nice to see the names of the songs as they play. Maybe I'll find some new favourites.

Also, playing through the beginning after having already read/watched the LPs is even more of an experience than last time, wow.

Also, Kind difficulty certainly doesn't seem kind compared to the last game. -shudders about Mean difficulty-

And yeah, I'm taking it slowly thanks to college work as well, after an initial blitz on Tuesday. Still I'm passed Chapter 4. Farewell you Overlord of Ice! May the light of heaven shine bright through your darkness. Also, your silencer ability is pretty cool.

Just watch your spoiler tags. It isn't coming to me until next Thursday at the earliest.

I was not expecting the English voice for Souda to sound like it did AT ALL (my sister and I can't help but make fun of it).

Uuugh, I forgot to check which gifts lead to the fanservice scenes and I got one for the second chapter which includes the one that looks like a little girl. Honestly, the horribly integrated OOC moment offends me way more than either the fact that you still can't opt out of fanservice scenes once you have the gift, or the scene itself. It's more extreme than the first game's OOCness. I totally forgot about the scene in question too, since I only remembered the attempt to peep on Nidai and Akane from an LP.

On another note, let me add my voice to the whole "this game is harder" thing. I've been playing on mean since last time it was easy enough as long as I had my BTB skills, and I've died a couple of times in the first trial. First trial also felt really long when I was playing it, though I was trying to marathon it with some newfound free time I had. Mostly digging the new mechanics though. Disappointed that I didn't get to do the snowboarding game, but whatever. And wow, the terms for the hangman's gambit are really long considering that last game they went with "schizo" for the shortness and this is the first chapter.

I also didn't read the instructions for the revamped BTB and just went by muscle memory. That was a terrible idea. I, er, died twice before realising I ought to check the transcript for instructions.

I still haven't really figured out the PTA stuff. Mostly get lucky because hey, I'm friends with Sonia and that gave me a huge HP boost.

Also, have played the Dangan Island mode, mostly to grind some hope fragments of the guys who die pretty quickly.

And yeah, I've seen that fanservice scene. Out-Of-Character doesn't even really empathize just how odd it is.

Ewww. I know Saonji is just as old as the rest of them but that DOES NOT MAKE IT OKAY. Especially considering that she only looks about 9-11 years old.Is it just me or did they really up the fanservice this time around? I remember there were maybe three instances of fanservice in the first game max.
