EDIT: Woops, wrong crowner. Need one to decide to rename before the alt names crowner. Dehooking.

EDIT EDIT: Correct crowner made and hooked.

I understand "rename" and "merge" to be mutually exclusive, but they could both win. That's one problem with multi-proposition crowners.

No, they couldn't both win. If both options have consensus, the one with higher consensus wins.

Is Gotta Catch 'Em All and Chaos Emeralds really the same thing? Doesn't the bonus level make a difference?

Mentioning that it's a common variation seems more than adequate.

The issue is that a bonus level is optional and Gotta Catch 'Em All isn't, according to the descriptions.

The Trope Namer for Gotta Catch 'Em All is something entirely optional that ends with an A Winner Is You Bragging Rights Reward.

Gotta Catch 'Em All even explicitly states that it can be optional in the description.

The Bonus Level appears to be the only difference, and YMMV on if that's enough.

We are talking about a trope, not the Trope Namer. Also, the rest of GCTA's description says it's necessary.

Uhh... the description of Gotta Catch 'Em All sorta agrees with me here.

As I said, take a look at the bulleted list. It's not always mandatory.

Optional: None of the artifacts of that type is needed to complete the game, unless aiming for 100% Completion. Sonic the Hedgehog is an example of this. When they are earned in Bonus Stages, they are Chaos Emeralds.

I am talking about the first line of the description there.

If Gotta Catch 'Em All is disagreeing with itself within its own description, some minor cleaning needs to be happening. Changing one or two words would suffice, in this case, since the rest of the page is adhering to the bulleted list and allowing optional stuff.

EDIT: Done.

It looks like we've got a consensus to rename, but not to merge.

Rhymes with "Protracted."

Crowner called. A rename is in order.

Since the trope is about collectible items found in bonus stages, I suggest calling it Bonus Stage Collectibles.

[up][up] I wouldn't necessarily go for that. In the first two Game Gear Sonic games, the (former) Trope Namers are in the stages proper. While the first GG game has bonus stages, they don't contain Chaos Emeralds at all.

[up] That's precisely why we're renaming this: not every game containing "chaos emeralds" is actually an example of this trope.

Should we make a rename crowner?

I actually made a rename crowner earlier, but it wasn't hooked. I'll update it with the new options and try to get it hooked.

We usually use crowners to decide which name to pick. So, yes.
