Hey, buildings made of glass isn't really THAT outlandish since glass can be used as armor And insect wing doesn't literally mean insect mean, but style that resembles wings of insects. Just check google picture.
Didn't I somewhere read that they don't intend to make a good Elder Scrolls game, but a good online game? So far, I don't see that they are doing either. It surely will clash with the Elder Scrolls lore, which is not THAT bad if we're honest about it. Read that first TES book, what's it called. Hardens you good - here Bethesda decreed everything is canon. To me, reading it was like digging a hole in the garden and burying me alive. What I find more disturbing, however, is that everything about the game's status as an online game is plainly ripped-off and standardized. I haven't read anything yet I would say about: "Oh yeah, that's ESO specific, they got that going for them." Which is a shame. I usually am a HUGE TES fan. ESO is like that guy faking his own death to see if his future wife really loves him. Do I really love TES? Playing ESO will show.

For me, it's the lack of player housing. A staple of TES since Daggerfall... "Oh, but it's not doable in an MMO" they claim. Really? Coz Star Wars Galaxy did it. Ultima Online had it. It was made 15 years ago. Lord Of The Rings Online has it. But apparantly, it's "impossible" for an MMO. Hell, the project Director worked on Dark Age Of Camelot... WHICH HAD player Housing.
That's the amount of effort you are going to get out of this game folks.

I have no intention of ever playing this, but I really hope this doesn't affect TES VI and other future single player games.
Read that first TES book, what's it called. Hardens you good - here Bethesda decreed everything is canon.
While I don't think the books have the best writing ever, I don't see anything wrong with them lorewise.

@ Silent Colossus: Well, maybe it's just I find the whole plot and all the characters ridiculous and the writing unaspiring. I haven't read it in a while—will never again, to be exact—so there is little I can say to disprove what you say. It is my memory that the guy tampered with the lore, but it might as well be that in my eyes, the added lore was simply, you know, stuff for the drain. I wouldn't even have bought it after they released the first chapter for free, but Bethesda sent me a copy of the book to review, so I had to read it ... though since my review wouldn't have screamed "BUY THIS BOOK!" I made someone else read the book and write a rev who has a more diplomatic, casual approach to things.
My issue isn't mucking with the Lore. TES games do that all the time. (Remember when the Imperials didn't exist... Or Cyrodiil was a jungle). It's that the lore offers fantastic ideas... Which the devs have clearly no interest in exploring. Why make a memorable city of crystal when you can make it in stone? Why make multiple breeds of Khajiit if you can have just one? It's a symptom of the general disinterest they are showing in putting effort and making something memorable, rather than making a generic MMO and banking on the Brand name to make it sell. The lack of creativity is stunning.

The writing in Elder Scrolls books isn't really good. Its stupid to read a book with 4 pages that barely has any fluent wording.
Unfortunately for me, I'll probably be the only person in the world to play this...
The world isn't prepared for T 44 Eight chemicalsWell, I just took a look at the site on a whim, and all I have to say is Jesus Christ what the fucking fuck man after reading this quote.
"Elder Scrolls are artifacts of immense power that aid an alliance in the ongoing battle to control Tamriel by conferring bonuses to every member of that alliance. Each alliance has a special stronghold in Cyrodiil where their Elder Scrolls are kept and protected – but enemy alliances can break in and take them if they are not guarded properly. Once access is gained and a Scroll taken, it must be taken back across Cyrodiil and placed in the alliance’s stronghold. Only then are the bonuses of the Scroll bestowed upon all the members of that alliance. Capture an Elder Scroll, protect it, and return it to your alliance’s stronghold to wield its power and gain bonuses."
They turned the fucking Elder Scrolls into flags that provide fucking +2% global mana regen or some shit. Good fucking job, Zenimax Online.

EIGHT GLORIOUS SIDESI suppose that's one way to use a Kel, but still kind of disappointing.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.Sounds like the Orbs of Power in Guild Wars 2's Wv W.
Fun fact: Anet recently removed them because they screwed the balance up.
So there's a new Ask Us Anything: http://elderscrollsonline.com/en/news/post/2012/12/20/ask-us-anything-aldmeri-dominion-part-2
Long story short; more stuff about how prior Elder Scrolls lore is wrong. Also, the Mane of Elsweyr has been relegated to being a spiritual leader, for no other reason than to make way for most likely generic medieval nobility for the Khajiit.
Although, the new in-universe book about queen Ayrenn is alright, even if a bit clunky and Ayrenn is still a huge Mary Sue.

There's nothing there about Elswehr that seems to directly contradict the lore.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite. It was fine, until somebody pointed out the swan ship..

It's like everytime this game takes a step forward, they take two steps back.
This is just getting embarrassing.
At this point, the only thing related to this game worth looking forward to is the sheer number of Take Thats and Discontinuity Nods that will no doubt be present in TES VI.
......, gah, really??, well
http://steamcommunity.com/id/Xan-Xan/I'm somewhat sad . I'm excited about going to all those cool places I never got to see in the main games....but now I'm wondering if the people who made this have even seen a screenshot of the other games, let alone experienced them somehow. I'm okay with a little bit of retcons/mistakes every game, but this is making more confused every minute.

The world isn't prepared for T 44 Eight chemicalsIs this really that bad seeming compared to other games in the franchise? I have never played any of them but I was looking forward to this.
In a word? Yes. In a few, yes it looks really fucking bad, especially compared to other games in the series.
I read their description of what TESO Pv P was supposed to be and went "Erm, that sounds almost exactly like Guild Wars 2 World Versus World.. Down to the Elder Scrolls being Orbs... Can someone sue them for that so they just don't make the game and pour their energy into the next highly successful and highly awesome Elder Scrolls game instead of jumping the shark with this pile of shit?"
Well, it's like this.
You're here for TES lore? Reinterpreted/reworked/revised for convienced of the devs.
You're here for TES aesthetics and locations? Well okay, but they've both taken a turn for generic, and many of those locations you were looking forward to are marginally... Completely different. That's okay, it's only because what you know of them from TES is completely wrong.
You wanted Elder Scrolls gameplay but online? Haha, have some turn based combat courtesy of a new kind of stamina/action point system thingy. You'll love it!1!
Long story short, I'm not seeing a lot of reason I wouldn't just play WOW instead of this for my MMORPG needs and TES for stuff I like TES for.
My worst fear is that the art direction for Online will severely limit the originality of future Elder Scrolls games, seeing as how they're more or less cribbing stuff from Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim.
Spooky."Everything about the game's status as an online game is plainly ripped-off and standardized." - Bresher
I agree with that as an initial reaction. My first question is, what can Elder Scrolls add or pioneer for the genre that my favorite already established MM Os like Final Fantasy and WOW haven't already done?
MMO is an abmitious genre to get into, especially when the other Elder Scrolls games all follow a formula of being a open world rpg and do very well with that formula already. In fact Elder Scrolls are some of best open world games I know of.
'Cause you've got to be be practical, and it's gotta be constructed with real-world materials. After all, this is The Elder Scrolls we're talking about. Morrowhat?
