I'm not the only one who sees the Motorola guy in a volcano lair, with an evil laugh?

People aren't as awful as the internet makes them out to be.I have to wonder: does the ban on Windows 7 cover security updates as well?
Ban is not in effect till all of the appeals process is played out, for people who didn't read that bit.
"You want to see how a human dies? At ramming speed." - Emily Wong.Okay fine.
Will the ban on Windows 7 also cover the security updates if it goes into effect?

If this does actually go through people will just pirate stuff at a never before seen rate. If there is anyway to actually enforce this ban without costing a shitton of money to all involved than I guess Apple gets to make a killing...
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects. So what are Motorola's grounds here? Is this one codec a crucial part of windows/the 360?
I can only remember the episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force where he is enslaved by phones.
Remember! Hyperbole is an exaggeration made for comedic effect, and shouldn't be taken literally!Wow, this sounds like a serious case of patent trolling.
Didn't LG try the same thing against Sony and won?
No, I wouldn't say this is patent trolling. If I'm not mistaken, an earlier article that covered how the trial was about to start spoke about how Microsoft knew they were ignoring the patent and were talking internally about how they should probably remove the infringing part and make a substitute. This is why their appeal was about how that patent shouldn't hold any water and not any of the other possible defences.
Not all copyright/patent disputes are trolling, people.

Microsoft is probably going to be hurting if this goes through

So. Let's all pause for a moment to smell what the Rock was, is, and forever will be... cooking.—Cave JohnsonYou'd be surprised at how lesser companies can prevail when it comes to video game issues.
There's the whole issue about having the word "edge" in video game titles because a small magazine company will bitch about it at any given time, and I remember a so called development company founded in 2004 successfully sued Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony over the use of buttons and analog sticks on controllers.
Yeah, the 360 will be gone soon.
"Pancakes. Oh, I blew it." - Joel Hodgson Nobody better lay a Butterfinger on my 3DS!Okay, this is the last straw. Someone has to fix the IP laws, because this getting beyond ridiculous. Thousands of people all over America and the world play Xbox. This whole thing is a joke. IP laws are a joke.
For all the things I hate about Microsoft, let's just hope they win this one.
I call a title change to "360 Could Be Banned in North America".
About the controller lawsuit, it didn't stop any of the companies from selling controllers, and a year later a judge decided it was BS and tossed it out the window. Granted, this is a major case, but all hell will break loose if this happens. There are several game companies that would not be pleased about this. (well, other then Nintendo or Sony)
"Pancakes. Oh, I blew it." - Joel Hodgson Nobody better lay a Butterfinger on my 3DS!Nintendo's official stance is usually that they don't care what the other companies are doing, since they're usually doing something completely different anyway. There'd probably be few tears shed at Sony, though.
I doubt this will affect too much, though, with the first console in the eighth generation coming out later this year, and Microsoft's successor to the Xbox 360 will no doubt be shown off at E3.

I usually have no sympathy for 360, and I never liked how Microsoft butted in to the gaming business, but I will say this
Only Sony and or Nintendo can flatten you, period
I will not accept some STUPID patent become the death knell for a product lasted years as a source of entertainment for many

What profit is it to a man, when he gains his money, but loses his internet? Anonymous 16:26 I believe...Still, this is beyond ridiculous. IP laws are going to be the death of freedom and innovation. It's sad to see greed take over everything.
Well shit...although..Microsoft did get a comeback...
Hope Motorola loses...or, most likely, they'll trade the SMS thing with the H.264 thing...

Give me cute or give me...something?Good God, the judge who made this ruling has no idea how the video game industry works.
According to the video, he suggested that Sony and Nintendo would be able to handle any extra demand.
I'm sorry, but the video game console industry is not a monopolistic competition market.
On a side note, I'm wondering if this lawsuit will cause Microsoft to push the Xbox 720/whatever's coming next to the market so they aren't completely pushed out of the console market.

This is a signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
Yeah, this sort of thing tends to be hitler miss.
