So, this is a thread for newbies to the Game Of Thrones universe to discuss the show without running the risk of being spoiled.
And that's any kind of spoiler, btw, even the "wait and see" kind of spoiler. Everyone should post here if they want to, just be mindful of what you're saying people.
So. Queef of Darkness, amiright? Holy shit the ending to that episode was amazing.

I just assumed it was the show's writers wanting to play up Cersei's villainy. If her killing 15 bastards was bad, 19's even worse! Just a case of Sequel Escalation.

I think you're in the wrong thread...
I don't think Cersei killed any of Robert's children.

I don't think Cersei killed 15-19 Baratheon bastards.
Especially since I doubt Robert only impregnated ladies at King's Landing.
He made the eight after all.
"You can't change the world without getting your hands dirty."She was directly responsible for the purge of Baratheon bastards, wasn't she?
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Robert having 20 children actually sounds like too few now that I think about it. For a man that slept with as many women as him I'd expect more.
In the show it was Joffrey.

No in the show it was Joffrey.

"You can't change the world without getting your hands dirty."I agree. Although considering most were whores, who are probably the only ones in Westeros with access to/knowledge of birth control, that is somewhat justified, I suppose.
Ah. Just seemed like a more Cersei thing to do. But still, makes Joffrey look worse. So... yeah.

Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Well many women would drink their moon's tea and then you have to figure in that women have miscarriages all the time in this setting.
Robert also looks like the one night stand kinda guy. He fucks you then leaves you the next morning.

"You can't change the world without getting your hands dirty."I think the Doyelist explanation is likely that the show forgot about the black haired child, although it makes sense to me that he "wouldn't count" toward the prophesy since he died before being named. Like I can imagine Cersei being happy at the birth because she thought it averted the prophesy... and then the kid dies right after that...
If I remember correctly, Cersei mentions the Black-Haired Child to Robert later. Something like 'I felt something for you at some point. Even after..." or something like that. I don't remember the line. But that throws out the idea that Cersei was lying about the child to Lady Stark.
Yeah, according to the wiki, she mentions it to Robert himself, so there's that.
So either it inexplicably didn't count for the prophesy, or the writers just ignored it because Viewers Are Morons and they figured everyone forgot. Or they forgot.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. So, what's everyone's death pool for this season? I've watched the leaked episdoes, so I know that they're definitely deviated from the book at this point.
There's going to be discord amongst Little Finger and Stannis, that I can see. Little Finger wants to install Sansa as the Wardeness of the North while Stannis wants to legitimize Jon Snow and make him the Warden.
... I just kinda want Dany to die.
I just find her dreadfully boring, and despite the fact I like her supporting cast (including Daario after the recast, which is incredible) and dragons, I dread any scene across the Narrow Sea. Here's hoping Tyrion and Varys, two of my favorite characters, manage to make her more interesting.
Side note, I think Varys dies. Just seems likely. Big name enough to matter, not so big that it'd derail the show.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.I'm going to ignore the way things go in the books and make predictions based on where the show seems to be going:
- Meryn Trant is almost certainly going to die. He's going to Braavos with Mace Tyrell and Arya is still mad at him for killing Syrio.
- One of the Sand Snakes will probably be killed by Jaime or Bronn during their attempt to rescue Myrcella.
- I'm going to take a wild guess and say Pod will die protecting Brienne.
So, are we allowed to edit in the information of the leaked episodes to the trope page of the show? I'm not sure what the policy here is.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."Anyone else noticed Peter Dinklage's American accent when he says 'power'? When talking to Varys, 'the powerful have always oppressed(?) the powerless, that's how they became powerful in the first place'. It actually became difficult not to notice.
noisivelet naht nuf erom era srorrimIf this were any other show, I'd say go ahead.
But considering the ever changing nature of Game of Thrones and how protective people are of being spoiler, I'd recommend not doing so.
I'm pretty sure the general rule is not to add something until it has been released to the general public through an intended, official source. Each different type of media has its own rules for how long spoilers are up, I think.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyTyrion generally has a British accent. It's a case of Ooh My Accents Slipping for Dinklage, given he is an American. It is noticeable in that one scene though, hence thought it was noteworthy.
noisivelet naht nuf erom era srorrimTo me Peter Dinklage is the inverse of Eddie Izzard's American Traveler in The Riches. Sounds pretty, but Ooh, Me Accent's Slipping.
So, Cersei won my heart this episode for her unending "fuck this, not in MY house" faces. Most intriguing was the Sansa plotline. From trailers I assume she's going north. Erm, Littlefinger hanging with Roose is like the ultimate creep-off. May Roose's DILF powers prevail!
From Ask The Tropers, consensus was unanimously "keep leaked stuff off the pages," but with some support for "it's fine to make a recap page for unaired episodes" (on the grounds that spoiler-worrying people can simply ignore the recap page).
