Nothing wrong with aloof characters, but it would be awful if he didn't change over the course of the series. I'm personally rooting for a yandere snap in which he kidnaps Chitanda and buries her somewhere in the city, leaving a series of obvious clues for the remaining club members to follow before it's too late.
That's even worse than not changing at all.
I personally think his aloofness is overdone. But otherwise the lengths he takes it to are fun.
"Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes."Did that sound serious? (Genuinely confused)

... so you're making a strawman of your own argument?

@ Arha Hey, at least this show can actually be considered good. Last time I checked the charts Gulty Crown was top two or something. Blegh.
It's not just the art, but the direction. The attention to detail is impressive.

Eh. I watch the show mainly because Satoshi is my favorite of the introduced characters and I want to see what he does next.

This show is amazing!
These character interactions? Top notch! Not clichéd in the slightest, brilliantly written, suspenseful and very witty too!
Hey, maybe the art and animation are average, but even so...
I could re-watch this show a thousand times!

"Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes."Man, you sure know how to be depressing.
Animation-wise, I'd say that Hyouka is on par with GC. As for art... it's fairly generic but very pretty.
Why does this show give me Haruhi vibes? The entire atmosphere has less than ten percent of the latter's vibrancy and yet I'm feeling this odd sense of deja vu every second I'm watching it.
His aloofness has high comedic potential.
Like when he salutes the "high energy people".
Or when they convinced him to search for the anthology because Chitanda says that otherwise they will have to search all over the school (vesualises school corridors and rooms in rapid succession).
Also if you pay attention, you will see that whenever Chitanda makes a request Otaru looks aways...as if trying to scape from Chitanda`s geass

I will always cherish the chance of a new beggining.Dude has seen those eyes, for a month now, he should know that you can't say no to them so he tries to to avoid them.
Eru's eyes will make hearts grow three times.
His "smart laziness" reminds me of the protagonist of Moving Pictures.
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntSo in this episode the mystery is solved... or is it? That can't be the whole of what happened.
If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything. It's clearly not. Eru still doesn't know why she cried.
Yeah, I don't think that's the whole story. It's a decent but rough guesstimate of what probably happened, like Houtarou said, meaning there's probably going to be a big twist that couldn't possibly be figured out with the info they have now, which will probably also tie in why Eru reacted the way she did when she heard about it.
Eru looks way better with her hair tied up. She looks almost like a big sister or some kind of mature, almost motherly figure compared to when her hair is down, where her appearance reverts to a generic moeblob who makes my eye twitch every time she clasps her hands to her chest.

I prefer her hair down. Already said I'm not a fan of the art style, so I like her that way because it seems more doglike.
I'm still conflicted about this show. On the one hand you can sit and immerse yourself in them and almost forget how trivial these mysteries are. On the other hand that's to forget that solving them is impressive and it's well executed.
"Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes."It was actually a fairly interesting and basic (but decently fun) bit of source-criticism: That kind of looking through different sources trying to figure out something is pretty much precisely what historians do.
Chitanda is kind of eh... Except when she goes all "stare" and Houtarou starts getting hallucinations about her Prehensile Hair.
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntAnd you just know that they'll eventually find a copy of the first anthology issue!
I like her hair up. It makes her look older. I still don't really like her though. The tareme eyes irk me for some reason.
I can't really stand Chitanda either. Yamato Nadeshiko types usually rub me the wrong way.
I think the only YN I ever enjoyed watching was Belldandy, who managed to take it the archetype so far it crossed the line twice towards hilarious.
I actually like Chitanda, but not for being a YN, she's just an interesting character. If I don't like anyone it's probably generic tsundere #305000 Ibara.
Not quite sure why you're taking that attitude. Is there some reason I can't enjoy the MC being so aloof?
