So anyway, these are close to done right now.

Chunin Exam Day, Legend of the Blue Wolves, and The Anatomy Of A Fall have 2 angel votes.

Slave World and Ultimate Girls have 2 devil votes.

Yeah, I'm gonna give Gore Screaming Show and Yume Miru Kusuri devilheads, too. Those prepubescent-looking girls damned them to the cutlist.

I just have to say that something doesn't feel right about it. But whatever.

Chunin Exam Day, Legend of the Blue Wolves, and The Anatomy Of A Fall have 2 angel votes.

Slave World, Ultimate Girls, Gore Screaming Show, and Yume Miru Kusuri have 2 devil votes.

As I noted, both seem like they would pass just fine were it not for the sex scenes with Yuka and Nekoko.

That's touching on why I feel weird about this, but it doesn't matter since no one's going to change they're mind on this whole thing.

So let's talk about something else instead. The Weekenders Series, Takotsuboya K-ON Trilogy, Echoing Of The Fragile Wind Trilogy, My Life as a Teenaged Von Neumann Device, Bartleby Tales, Hell MOO, and Nozoki Ana have one or no votes.

You know, I just looked at some pics of the characters in question. They seem more "young teenager" than "prepubescent girl" to me, and given the story heavy nature of both games, I don't think they were designed that way to promote feelings of lust so much as protectiveness.

Just my 2 cents.

Ha! The Color of Her Panties is in a mainstream library.

I couldn't find bio of a space tyrant though.

Oh yeah, Hell MOO. Remember that quote saying that you can go five minutes from character creation to orphans? It ain't kidding. 13 year orphans, some of them rabid and attacking everything in sight, are the starting mobs for Level Grinding. Note last sentence.

Maybe. I don't keep up with that specific middle school. I can go do a search for my local library if you like.

Edit: not finding it in the local library network.

I know that we were waffling on Von Neumann Device, and that's how it got lost in the shuffle. I read the entire Weekenders Series, and aside from one graphic chapter, out of eight stories, of brainwashing Mind-Rape crap, it's not pornographic.

Believe it or not, The Color of Her Panties isn't nearly as bad as the title sounds. At most, there are some allusions to sex and mentions of nudity. There's no explicit sex or detailed descriptions of the nudity.

My library has the first three Bio of a Space Tyrant books. (And I think my dad has the entire series.) If it will help out, I can read through them to see what the content is like.

Regarding the Bio of a Space Tyrant books, can we please halt any such discussions pertaining to it for at least a few days. I mean, come on, we P5 members just came to a decision for it a couple days old. Let it rest for a few days, guys...

So how about something else.

I could point to where to read the Takotsuboya K-ON Trilogy so you can vote on that. Though I'd say it's an easy porn cut.

I find it odd that stuff that is marketed in its originating country as 18+ porn is getting angel votes while stuff that marketed in the same country as appropriate for teenagers is getting devil votes.

Complaining about the way we have voted is not productive at best, and downright disruptive at worst. Knock it off.

Consider this your final warning.

I don't think he's complaining. It's just an interesting thing to note. Everybody knows Values Dissonance is at play here, and there's nothing wrong with that.

... Okay, I'll bite: are you really noting some Values Dissonance that's at play here, or is this just some weird attempt at sending us on a guilt trip over some of our recent decisions?

We always knew that Values Dissonance was going to be an issue, especially with borderline works. ("18+" doesn't automatically equate to "porn", just as "sold publicly in country of origin" doesn't automatically equate to "free pass based on our guidelines".) If there's a specific issue with a particular decision, please state it clearly, especially if you think that the 5P has missed out on vital evidence or should reconsider certain aspects of their judgement (within reason).

It's also worth pointing out that the site guidelines for "pedo-pandering" are a lot more restrictive than those for porn, so comparing a work cut for one to a work kept for another is pretty apples & oranges. (Note that I didn't review or vote on Bio and don't know what other works are being referenced here, so this is meant to be a general statement.)

Additionally, the listing on the P5 announcements thread shows a pretty wide variety of works from various cultures on both the "Cut" and "Keep" lists, so if there is an implication of bias for or against works for a particular culture, I don't think the evidence supports it.
