I was looking to see what kind of psychological disorders might well fit the kinda sorta Big Bad of one of the New Dawn short stories.

The villain in question was based slightly on the other topic of making a sympathetic Serial Killer, the said killer in this case being Robin Garrett.

I need this in order to show a scene of some investigators looking his profile over and some recorded quirks and such and diagnosing him with certain disorders.

Robin's behavior is that he hates being exposed to the world, and dealing with other people, this factor increasing after he kills the first time. He is an extreme social recluse.

He reserves a special hatred for the Jerk Jock and Alpha Bitch personality types. He believes that, due to some truly cruel bullying, they are all out to get him. He always makes sure to show this hatred, even if they're just hanging out, Robin glares at them.

He believes the jock or the libby are not people, but mere words, status symbols or such. He thinks that there is nothing really unique between one jock and the next, aside some small differences in appearance.

To this end of "protecting others and himself from them", he feels compelled to strike first, a deed made easier by his abilities granted due to the Spell Core he has; basically, he makes people into bombs. That, and some uglier stuff.

He prefers to run away as soon as he gets the requisite touch for his bomb ability, as he dislikes actually seeing the deed done, though there are some exceptions. He has a compulsion to do things he thinks are "heroic", striking down "villains".

Robin also shows some Genre Savvy, and actually seems to know tropes, but seems to constantly try to apply Manga tropes to real life. He wants a day to day life with his mother, and not much else, keeping his secret life just that; secret.

Since he sounds pretty much exactly like the sort of troper who used to post on Troper Tales back when that existed, I'm going to go out on a limb and say Internet Asperger's Syndrome. No, not the real kind, just the fake self-diagnosed kind.

Never build a character piecemeal out of tropes.

[up] This. It seems like a perfect fit, really.

What they said. Also sounds way too similar to Yoshikage Kira from Jojos Bizarre Adventure.

Agreed. He doesn't sound like he would have an actual disorder, (aside from the prerequisite ones for a serial killer,) but one of the poor, deluded masses who would self-diagnose in an attempt to feel special and to remove blame.

He was also based on the idea of "A manic troper", and its inferred that he is a banned troper himself. In particular, he tried to apply tropes to everything, adding to certain pages incessantly.

[up] Thanks for the idea. He will be basically coming up with a new diagnosis every week to try to allay his own guilt.

[up][up] Robin is a strange case, in that, due to his knowledge of Manga and tropes, he is trying his hardest to be an Expy. YMMV on whether or not he succeeds. While he shares the Modus Operandi (explosions), he prefers targeting "social / political villains", and he shows himself to be somewhat squeamish (He likes to read about reactions to his explosions, but not actually seeing them)

Thanks for the diagnosis and analysis. I was actually angling for the "acts a bit like a type of troper" thing.
