Needs Help: Playing With Fire

Maybe it's because I really love Avatar The Last Airbender, maybe it's because I want it to be a theme for the "big four" elements, but I nominate Prince◊ Zuko◊.

I dont like the blue in that first one, and the second on looks like Ki Attacks.... you got anything that looks more like fire?

I have not seen the series but several screens around have looked like fire.

EDIT: like this maybe◊ but more clear its the person in question casting the fire spell.

Well, this one's shifted noticeably since the last time I checked it...

Here's the "Prodigial Pyromancer" image, cropped a wee bit, and shrunk to 345 pixels wide: [1]◊

Honestly, I don't like it very much, as the fire on his fingers is small.

Of the leading options, I don't like Kusanagi because the focus of the image is off. There's a big full-body shot of the guy and the little fire is off in the corner. I like Prodigal Pyromancer better because it's more focused on the fire. The World Of Warcraft Blistering Fire pic is good too.

Not a big fan of Kirby because of the Breath Weapon overlap.

For the Kusanagi one, does the crop on post 14 look any better?

Alright, this one's over a week old and we still don't have consensus. Let it run through the weekend, or do a run-off crowner between the top options?

Seems like new pictures have been added as well, so if you've voted, check if there are ones you've not seen.

I agree with Troacctid about the Kirby and Kusanagi pictures. The Kusanagi crop from 14 is better.

And are there really no better Avatar screenshots than those suggested above?

I like the Kirby one and the Blistering Fire ones.

My objection to the Kirby image is that it looks like Breath Weapon instead of this trope.

May I add any of the above images to the crowner? How many images can a crowner have?

OK, 14 new options added.

Something I personally have in mind when voting is that the image show not just "casting a fire spell" (specifically) but "uses fire magic" (in general). That is, having a fire theme, being fiery besides the spell that's being cast, etc. (Which is not essential to the trope definition, but good for the page image, I think.)

One problem with most of these images is that the characters look like their hands are on fire. o.o

That said, I think this is marginally less of a problem with non-human characters (like Kirby or other creatures) since we expect a human-looking character, but not necessarily a non-human one, to be hurt by fire.

If someone's hand is wreathed in flame and they aren't reacting in pain, the message I get is that they're using some sort of fire magic.

Unless it's Dissonant Serenity.

And maybe it's not fire at all, but some kind of strange orange and yellow mist.

Just checked, and it's definitely from MTG. It looks fine without the caption; locking up.
