Poor Image: Magical Flutist

The current pic on Magical Flutist is as tall as the page when the folders are closed. Can we cut it down to one of the pics? Also, here's◊ another option.

Now that you mentioned it, none of these are actually that special. They sort of work, but, meh.

Yeah, none of them get the "magical" part across very well, especially the third.

Hmm I dont have anything super to suggest here..... All I got is a Magical Girl playing a Magical Flute... at least the flute looks magical....

I like the third one in that, though her fingering technique is rather poor.

If the page were longer, the current image would be perfect. I'm fine with any one of the three pics in the current image. The rope charmer is okay too, but it may not be quite as good.

Keep in mind that the instrument itself need not be or look magical. What matters is the character, mysteriously playing mysterious tunes. That's what I get from the description, but some of the examples show otherwise… this may need another thread for examples cleanup. I mean, seriously, the Warp Whistle? Mario doesn't fit at all!

The current is not very magical but nobody seems very excited about any of the alternatives.

I liked the anime pic better

Mysterious guy playing a flute. Does it get more overt than that? I honestly think the objection to the image is based on a fundamental misunderstanding of the trope.

The magical girl one? Shows a random person playing a fruity flute. Utterly misleading about the trope, completely wrong.

Anyway, the Link to the Past image is also good. If that's any better, then that one can be put up.

I like this one personally. The current one just shows a weird costume. In the anime pic the flute at least looks magical.
