Poor Image: Magical Flutist get usage counts

The current pic on Magical Flutist is as tall as the page when the folders are closed. Can we cut it down to one of the pics? Also, here's another option.

A pocketful of saudade.
Now that you mentioned it, none of these are actually that special. They sort of work, but, meh.
The words above are to be read as if they are narrated by Morgan Freeman.

[up] Yeah, none of them get the "magical" part across very well, especially the third.
Cure Candy
Hmm I dont have anything super to suggest here..... All I got is a Magical Girl playing a Magical Flute... at least the flute looks magical....

Perhaps some sort of snake, or rope charmer? [1]

[up][up] I like the third one in that, though her fingering technique is rather poor.

[up] Heh. smile I agree, the third of those is the best.

Bump...anyone else?

If the page were longer, the current image would be perfect. I'm fine with any one of the three pics in the current image. The rope charmer is okay too, but it may not be quite as good.

Keep in mind that the instrument itself need not be or look magical. What matters is the character, mysteriously playing mysterious tunes. That's what I get from the description, but some of the examples show otherwise… this may need another thread for examples cleanup. I mean, seriously, the Warp Whistle? Mario doesn't fit at all!

This has gone on for long enough. I left the Waka image on the page. Caption? I got nothing.
The current is not very magical but nobody seems very excited about any of the alternatives.

Something magic? What is he doing?

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel.
Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.

not very magical
Take another look at the description.
The description does not affect how magical-looking the picture is.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel.
Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.

[up][up] Flautist in fancy garb doth not "magical" make at first glance.

I liked the anime pic better

This character is notable for having a flute or some other wind instrument, playing tunes that give a feeling of mystery or magic, and for being quite mysterious themselves.
Mysterious guy playing a flute. Does it get more overt than that? I honestly think the objection to the image is based on a fundamental misunderstanding of the trope.

The magical girl one? Shows a random person playing a fruity flute. Utterly misleading about the trope, completely wrong.

Anyway, the Link to the Past image is also good. If that's any better, then that one can be put up.

I like this one personally. The current one just shows a weird costume. In the anime pic the flute at least looks magical.

I'm fine with the current, but here's some of Link being the flutist.
Belief or disbelief rests with you.

Clock's up; locking for inactivity/lack of consensus. No further action is to be taken based on this thread.
The system doesn't know you right now, so no post button for you.
You need to Get Known to get one of those.
