Yes. "Crepe" rhymes with "rape". I know that "crepe" is pronounced differently in some parts of the country, but the page is indexed under Just For Pun, which makes the creator's intention clear.

I have to agree that that should probably be renamed. If you pronounce "crepe" the French way (approximately "crehp"), it's not a problem; but if you use the common (American) English pronunciation, the name turns into Date Crape—one consonant away from date rape.

And, as I said, that was obviously what the creator meant. Yuck.

TRS is at capacity at the moment, but if we brainstorm a few alt titles here, that will make the thread go faster when it does happen.

I vaguely recall that one in the Anime Tropes thread as some kind of specific "generic date food" rather than just general sweets on the date.

Actually the trope does specifically refer to crepes... so the title would have to reflect that. Just with a better choice of words.

We have already dealt with that. There was a thread on Date Crêpe.

Quite possibly. A while ago, someone recreated Rape Is Love/Victim Falls For Rapist as Loving Force, and they started moving wicks. Though the page has been cut, most of the wicks are still around. They need to be removed, with trope entries perhaps pulled to discussion pages, and sometimes sentences with potholes to it need to be reworded to retain the information that the pothole was meant to convey.

Are we still in the clean & lock business? Because if yes, we are nowhere near done.

Well, I've fixed and lock some really problematic ones but I'm pretty much worn out. The subject is also very unpleasant so I can see why it may be difficult to gather hands.

• The Rapeman: The entire text after "...women." can probably go - not only isn't it part of this work, it's fan reaction stuff.
• The Bellatrix Lestrange thing under Fan Fic is a Zero Context Example.
• The BDSM literature example looks very general - not what I would search in the example section.

Bumping this in absence of a better forum: Ought we do something about new "Abuse/Rape/Whatever is OK if X" tropes?

There are new ones? If so, I expect they can be moved to the Double Standard X format, though bringing them here first would of course be good.

That can just be renamed before launching. The sponsor hasn't come back to the draft so they haven't seen the proposal that it be Double Standard Abuse Child On Adult; if it turns Up For Grabs or when they come back, changing it should be fine.
