Here is hoping, but I also hope if it does come back it is a Weekend block and not every night. I don't think the Adult Swim shows should go away, at least not without an ending.

Whatever tomorrow brings I'll be there. With open arms and open eyes.

A bit late to the party, but Adult Swim doesn't hate anime.
Just saying.

Don't have a link, but apparently Viz are hinting something about Toonami and a Tiger And Bunny dub.

Tiger And Bunny, which IS getting the dub at the right time, would be the perfect choice.

It certainly works within the context of the block.

"#BringBackToonami We've heard you. Thank you for your passion and interest - stay tuned."

I think it's safe to say at this point that Toonami will be back at some point in some form.

What's the general reaction of 4chan? I wanna see how hyped they're getting.

A good writer puts in a lot of details in there story. But a great one gets a story from a single detail.

Already saw the news of this on the equivalent thread in the Manga/Anime section, but I might as well post this while I'm here.

Mother of God, this is actually happening...

As for how 4Chan is feeling about it: /co/, /v/, and /m/ are shitting bricks; /a/ is pissed that they'll have people trying to talk about things other than Moe on their board.

[up] /co/, /v/, and /m/ are omega bros. /a/ is a nostalgia hating, moe worshipping band of neckbeards who only have /jp/ for support.

Anyway, now that we know Toonami is back for reals, let us post suggestions of what adult swim should license for the block. Let's try to not rely on nostalgia too much.

  • Wakfu
  • Cromatie High or Daily Lives of High School Boys
  • Soul Eater
  • Constant Payne
  • The Amazing Screw-On Head
  • A western animated version of a Toonami classic made modern (for example, Outlaw Star from the people who made EMH)
  • Abridged shorts of Toonami classics (think Team Fourstar) during breaks
  • A live action adaptation of Kamen Rider
  • Pokemon Special: The Anime

[up][up][up] I don't keep up with new anime much nowadays so I don't have much for suggestions (although Soul Eater is a good choice), but I could very well see Funimation trying to get some of its properties onto the block seeing as their channel was taken off the air not too long ago.

As for nostalgia, most of us here (well, those of us on the Manga/Anime section) are in agreement that a 70/30 or 60/40 split between new and old/current programming would probably be for the best, so I doubt that'll be a problem.

Funimation's channel was only taken off Verizon's cable service. If it's been off the air anywhere after that, I wouldn't know, because I couldn't watch it anymore.
